Clan War Participants
Hello,
I think Super Cell needs to add a feature for each clan member and leader/coleader to toggle on or off for each member. This toggle would determine if the member should be included or excluded as part of the roster in the next clan war search. I'm sure most readers can see what the benefits are of this, but here's what I came up with. I'm sure there are more good reasons for it besides what's listed below:
1.) Members that are busy or on vacation can toggle off without leaving clan or hurting team
2.) Members that simply don't want to war for any reason can opt out.
3.) From a leader's standpoint, the war can be restricted to members that are ready for war, for whichever metrics the leadership sees fit.
4.) Leadership can better manage a clan to make sure all members are active and participating. More accountability, more engagement. Which is good business for Super Cell.... right guys?
5.) Lower level members can remain in a clan without being a detriment to the team. Such members can still receive all the benefits of being in a clan with higher ranking members. Tips and strategy, clan castle troops, community, and experience.

I actually really like this idea. I'm sick of kicking and reinviting people that aren't gonna be in wars.

There have been many threads on this. I add this to as many as possible...
How it should work...
There should be a button (it can be a new one or the war shield can be modified) that toggles a player as in or out.
Access to hit the button to toggle should go to the leader and the player in question.
---- individual players cannot opt each other in or out
---- its an argument either way to give it to co as well - Good for clans where co is a management job, bad for clans that give it out like candy. (I consider the latter to be a sign of a bad leader)
---- A leader who abuses authority to opt guys in against their wishes are really just hurting their own selves for how they are adding a risk to their war participation. (the guy might then just not attack anyhow, if not seeing eye to eye with leader he wont care)
---- A leader opting a guy out against his wishes has that prerogative to decide who he wants in his war. And its still nicer than just kicking the guy like happens now.
The status of a player is only a factor right at the time a war starts. Instead of just selecting all eligible players from the total population it will just be all eligible players from the opted in group.
---- Can even implement by leveraging the existing eligibility functionality that currently is only driven by a timer.
After that everything works the same. The list of warriors from the clan is rounded to an even 5 via the existing logic and then the matchmaking calculation takes place also using the existing logic.
A player joins a clan with his eligibility set the same way it is today. (He is in unless there is a timer)
Things that would not happen -
...A player cannot add themselves to a war after the fact. If they change their status during a war it makes no difference until the next war when that status is read at startup.
...This would not serve as a way to replace members that take off during war. if they do that then there is the same affect on the war as there is today. Unused attacks stay unused. (it will never change that this just stinks when guys pull that stunt)

Thought of the exact same thing. A "should be implemented quick" suggestion in my opinion

That's exactly it. Once you opt in and a war is set everything stays the same. There's no substitutes. It works to everyone's benefit. It's certainly annoying to kick people out of the clan and re-invite immediately. Not only the task of doing it, but more importantly trying to explain to the kicked member why it was done and hopefully that member can understand. It's also contradictory for a leader who is trying to earn loyalty to kick and re-invite members for warring reasons. Obviously the intent is good, but not all members are capable of understanding the means.
The leadership of the clan certainly needs the authority to toggle in/out for each member. I would also say that co-leader should as well. I agree with you that's a problem for those clans that give co-leader as a party favor, but for those clans with real leadership from the leader and co-leader(s) it's a valuable tool. Access to co-leader I would certainly be in favor of, maybe that will make some clans think twice before giving co-leader to every member.
Thanks for your thoughtful response, maybe we can get some movement on this from Super.

It's not all that hard to implement, either. I don't see why it hasn't been added.

I agree, SuperCell should implement this on the next update.

Agree
I just came to this forum to post this exact thing. We need this badly.

someone voted no on the poll, what possible justification...

Yes please!!
This is a great idea, so sick of booting and re-inviting members, especially since they are our family accounts or close mates who are just starting up.
