Revenge Attack

I just logged on to someone attacking me and they took a good amount of resources. So i decide to start to stalk them to get some back. I continued to tap the revenge button but it kept saying they were online so i kept clicking it and stopping to look at their base to see if they were building troops or attacking. I somehow missed the chance and the base got a shield. I chalked it up to being stupid and checking the base. Until the next time.

About an hour later i catch him online and see that he is in the process of attacking (camp quantities keep going down). So i continue to click the revenge button non stop. This goes on for around 10 mins when in the middle of my non stop clicking it says the base is under attack. I think to myself ♥♥♥! How is this possible? 2 minutes later the base has a shield. Is there something i missed?

No wonder why you see people complaining about the revenge system on the boards. Something isn't right here.

Before anyone one comes up with some unreasonable excuse:
1) I'm in crystal 2
2) Almost max defensive buildings at TH 10
3) The enemy was around the same trophies and around the same base progress.

I dont try this so dont see it, but seems he got attacked or bought a shield, OR he was online and cancelling troops in his camps OR doing a single player, therefore meaning he bought a shield. He may have been clicked the same way as you as that also comes up with 'this base is already under attack' i believe. The boosts could also have meaned he logged off after supposedly attacking and then someone attacked him straight away. THIS IS CALLED REASONING AND THINKING IT THRU.

Reasoning and thinking it through?
1) if he bought a shield it would of just said he has a shield and not village under attack
2) if he was just canceling his troops how to do explain the damage to his AQ?
3) he completed all of the single player modes
4) there are a lot of ifs that you suggest which all are legit answers but do you also believe in Santa?

As you can tell from the number of posts i have made in the past I'm not one for posting pointless or random stuff. I did think this through and for it to happen twice with the same player in an hour is a little questionable.

Bases go into the main queue, before revenge.

Bases go into the regular attack queue *before* they become available for a Revenge. So the person logs off, yet for you you still will receive 'user is online'. They get attacked in the regular queue, and thus can already have a shield or are under attack before you get a chance to Revenge.

There's a 30 sec delay between you login off and someone being able to revenge you. Enough time for an external matchmaking to interfere. Nuff said

Thank you for the response and clarifying that the revenge function is totally worthless for higher levels.

the same thing is happening to me, although in my case i am certain that he has no shield when he was online, but then suddenly he has it when he got offline.

1. i got attacked and saw the live replay
2. i get online immediately, since my troops is already ready, i keep clicking revenge immediately, but he is online.
3. some minutes later, he is still online
4. 1min after that, the message online suddenly change to he has a shield.

my bet is that he bought a shield

i agree with you though, revenge should be able to bypass shield, otherwise it's function is very minimal.

very few people will actually use revenge, and this is proven with this thread's responses (which most does not care about revenge)

all of this will change if revenge can bypass shield, people will start revenging.

LOL And I hate it when you only take out their town hall and get like 4 trophies and whenthey revenge you they get like 50 something trophies, yet they are in a lower league with much stronger troops and higher th. There should be a cap for those with maxed out troops and th attacking someone not their equal. Just saying.
