If I type give me some it censors it even though there s a space
Please repost in more decipherable way:confused:
Welcome to forums! The censor in Clash of Clans is automatic and maintained by a computer that sees what you write, and if it thinks it is offensive then it will censor it. It is annoying, but it is part of global chat.
It censors 'need a good clan' - see it all on the time in the global chat. Needs fixing imo, it is highly sensitive to things that are not offensive. I cant see the issues with the other examples in this thread....what is the issue with 'give me some' or with 'blue stacks'??
"blue stacks" isn't censored. I just tested it out. Neither is "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" and "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥". Edit: ahh I see that this censored on the forums.
The issue in "need a good clan" is the "d a go" part because apparently its a swear word. issue in "give me some" is the "e some" part, which apparently is another swear word. Ironically, the censor mechanism has taught me two swear word. O_o
Spaces are deemed by the censoring mechanism to not exist in case someone puts spaces between letters to make swear words. This is the main issue. I understand why supercell might want to do this (to stop people from circumventing the censor), but it's not working. It's just making things worse. People still swear with creative circumventions like accents or 1 instead of l.
So I suggest that supercell just gets rid of the ignoring of spaces in its censoring mechanisms.
Email is also censored...i guess its because supercell doesnt want us to give out any personal info.
I was familiar with why dago was censored, I was using it as an example of poorly executed programming. FYI dago is not a swear word, more of a derogatory term for people of certain ethnicity, if people choose to interpret it that way. As for esome, surely that is a joke on the part of the programmers? A slang word unknown to many??
Blue stacks is an emulator you can get to play CoC on your computer. Doing so is against ToS which is prob why its censored on global
To be clear, I will repeat, "Blue Stacks" in any form is not censored on global, it is only censored on the forums because of the ToS.
exactly.. If most people have no idea what it means, censoring it would teach people that such a word exists. I understand Supercell's reasoning for censoring email and Skype and whatnot, but I still think its unnecessary. "Electronic mail" isn't censored and neither is "video conference via Internet" so it doesn't really work. Once I was advising someone "to email her" and it became horribly vulgar.
