Walbreakers bombs explode upon death?

I've been thinking about this for a while. Has anyone else been annoyed with Wallbreakers running up to a wall, only to die right at the wall? But what happens to their bomb? I mean they are carrying a lit bomb up to the wall with them, right?

So wouldn't it make sense for the Wallbreakers to drop their bombs upon death, regardless of where they are and explode?

To compare it to something; A mortar shoots its shell. The shell flies off to hit some giants or barbarians off in the distance. The archers you strategically placed then destroy this mortar while the shell is still flying. Does the shell just disappear into thin air as the mortar is destroyed?

I know there may be some implications with this with people saying that it'll be too easy to reach the core, but with the addition of the jump spell and many people using lavaloonian nowadays, walls are becoming obsolete anyway...

I dont agree with your wall breaker idea but I DO agree with your mortar idea. The shell wouldn't magically disappear. I see the same thing happen with wizard towers. Halfway through firing and getting destroyed, the stuff he fires disappears. But when wizards, witches and minions are halfway firing their projectile and they are killed, their projectiles don't disappear unlike the defenses. It is a bit unfair and I think this needs to be changed.

What you said can only be related to other projectiles, which also still work if the unit dies, even a dragon's breath. Also there is no realism in this game and changing game mechanics to make things 'realistic' without any consideration as to whether it is actually needed from a gameplay perspective is stupid.
In relation to whether it is actually needed I said use tanks, as it isn't needed as tanks should protect them. It would make it too easy to get in the core if wbs could blow up walls after dying. You haven't provided a reason for this change other than it would make breaking into a core easier, without saying why it should be easier. Any skilled attacker can break into the core of a maxed base with the current wbs so why the change?
The argument that jump spell makes walls slightly obsolete isn't a reason to make them more obsolete

Um, the mortar thing wasn't really an idea or a suggestion, the shells of the mortar DO still hit troops after it's been destroyed.

Could I ask why the wallbreakers shouldn't drop their bombs on death? It makes sense for them to, right?

There is something weird with wizard towers however, if the troop they are targeting dies, they will do their firing animation sometimes but don't actually shoot. I don't think they can change that.

I don't think you understood me, I'm not talking about when the wallbreaker dies while doing his bomb dropping animation, I'm suggesting that his bomb is dropped, regardless of where it is.

As far as gameplay improvement, it'll save people bringing ridiculous amounts of wallbreakers with them, only for them to be decimated by the new archer tower firing speeds, splash damage, teslas, infernos, xbows, anything that'll take them out in seconds, but for what? What happens their bomb? It's vanished into thin air?

I bet once lavaloonian gets a nerf and people go back to using more ground troops, people will agree that wallbreakers die far too quickly with the new archer tower changes. Yes, bringing a tank will help, but it becomes trickier when you want to get your wallbreakers to the core. In most attacks I see at higher levels, most peoples wall breakers don't get to the core, and people rely on their wizards and heroes or a jump spell to hit the walls as they are pounded by defences, because it's impossible to get wallbreakers there to assist them.

I do see where you are coming from with this, it makes sense, but I still think that destroying the wall breaker quick before he drops the bomb is part of the game... What I would suggest is maybe when the Wallbreakers get killed before they drop their bombs, the bombs could do half the damage as they would if the Wallbreaker was still living. I know that it will seem a ton less realistic, but I don't know if it could be added the way you originally said, supercell may agree with others that it is a little bit overpowered for the game... All in all, it is a cool idea and would be great to see in Clash!

I think if they did allow the bomb to explode upon death, the bomb should do damage to the attacking troops.

It can be made only damagex4 for walls and normal damage against anything else. WB will only be transportation for bomb. Not the trigger. Only thing I can counter this with logical idea is, the bomb might have a switch which is needed to trigger it. Which can't be triggered by skeleton if it dies. I mean skeleton does takes 2 seconds to prepare it and blow it up

Part of the game is accounting for this. A good strategy is that if you have golems and giants at the wall you know they are drawing the shots to them, which includes anything with splash damage. So instead of sending your WB right through the crowd you send them a few squares to one side so they don't get caught in that. The giants or golem will immediately redirect to the hole the WB made as soon as that happens.

A mortar shell is different. Once fired it is on its own no longer governed by the unit that fired it. But a wall breaker]s bomb still needs a living wall breaker to trigger it. So the way they have it now is in fact realistic.

If you want the fuse to be the cause of the bombs exploding, I don't think you thoroughly thought this idea through. Having the bombs explode by fuse would mean that a timer would have to be activated when the Wallbreaker is deployed. This would mean that they wouldn't blow up when they got to a wall, they would have to stand there and wait, in which time other troops would likely break through the wall themselves. This would also cause issue with them not having enough time to reach walls closer to the core, completely overturning your reason for having this.

It's a good idea it makes sense that when the wall breakers die the bomb shouldn't disappear. Just like balloons when they drop they don't just drop but kind of explode and do small damage. So why not make a suicide bomber do the same.

Valid point. The bomb isn't part of the troop. If you watch a wall breaker closely he drops the bomb when he reaches his target. The bomb of a wall breaker should explode upon death.

I use wall breakers when I attack with archers and barbs. The wallbreakers do break in even without tanks so that isn't the issue. Having the wallbreakers die but still drop the bomb would be a nice feature to have that's all.

Yeah I wasn't impl that it do 4x damage to your troops. I just think they should make the bomb a bomb regardless of where the skeleton dies. They made the air ballon explode after it gets shot down which is essentially the remaining bombs in the basket blowing up so why not make the wall breakers bomb explode if he dies. It should be set to where it only does 4x damage to a wall if he has the opportunity to get to the wall and actually place it down. Otherwise, if he dies it should be dropped (adding a little roll maybe .5 tiles as an inertia effect since the WB is running would be a neat use of physics engine) and should still explode damaging troops within the blast radius and possibly even buildings in the blast radius (again a bomb is a bomb so it damages everything) but only with the nominal damage (not the 4x) even if the "roll effect" puts a wall within the blast radius it should not do 4x damage to the wall. The only way to do that is for the WB to reach the wall and place the bomb. As for the arming comment the bomb has a fuse so the WB isn't arming the bomb when placing it, if anything there is a very long fuse so he can reach the wall before the fuse runs out which he bends and touches the lit side to a section of the fuse closer to the bomb to initiate detonation faster after placing the bomb. I also think it would be cool if SC would make the bombs have spikes on them and follow the same graphics as the trap bombs do through the WBs lvl until of course your WBs carry the powder kegs.

If they still blow walls while dying it would make the game unbalanced. Strategic placement of wall breakers is a part of the game. What could be done is that if they are alive they do (x40) damage to walls but if they die 1 tile away from wall(s) they drop the bomb there which explodes after 2 seconds and do (x10) damage to the wall. While they are alive, the bomb is in their hands and they know how to control it so they place it in such a way that bomb only damages the wall and buildings around it BUT after they die and drop the bomb they lose control of it so the dropped bomb which does only (x10) damage to walls can also damage the attacker's (x2) troop.

It is more logical for the bombs to be deployed wherever the wallbreaker dies.

People that say it will be too easy to get to the core, it doesn't really do anything. Most likely, the wallbreaker will die in a place where there are few walls. Without walls, wallbreakers barely do any damage.

Now there are many instances where a wallbreaker is right next to a wall but it gets killed.
I agree that the latter scenario might be game breaking for lower levels. The only way to get out of that sticky situation is to make an exception. If the bomb is dropped when wallbreaker dies, then there is no favourite target bonus.

Thatss an exception and Dahimi's guide says that exceptions are bad.

The bombs aren't on a timed fuse. The skeleton sets the bomb and activates the fuse. If the skeleton is killed before he sets the fuse, then there is just a big bomb sitting there, waiting to be activated. It's a dud. The skeleton has to activate the bomb.

So having a running WB explode when he dies is just a lame idea to ask for. It's basically your way of saying that you're frustrated that you can't protect your WB's while they're running. Well, at some point, we all learn to live with that. Tank better. Even barbs can serve as tanks, at least for outer walls, it's not like you need golems to tank your WB's all the time.

I'm on the fence about a wall breaker that has reached his target and has set down the bomb and lit the fuse. I mean, at that point, the fuse is lit. But I guess that SEE put the small delay there for a reason, probably to make WB's slightly more vulnerable. Game balance and all? This would discourage spamming of WB's. You should at least make an effort to tank them. I've seen noobs compensate for the lack of a tank by dropping 5-10 WB's and hoping that at least 2 of them live long enough to blow up a wall. Works fine with point defenses, but it's hilarious when a mortar takes out all 10. (I'm sure it wasn't hilarious for them...)

The point of troops is to win raids, not kill your own troops. If the bomb did damage to troops when the wall breaker dies, shouldn't it do damage when the bomb blows up at the wall? But then people will stop using wall breakers and we will see many complaint threads and many more air raids.
