People have said to use barbarians to lure the CC troops out to a corner. Umm, but then what if it's a dragon? Use wizards for that? I'm TH8 so I don't have a queen. I am bringing a handful of archers, but maybe not enough to wipe out a dragon by themselves.
I personally don't worry about luring the CC when using GoWiPe. Just use a rage when CC come outQuote:

Thanks, based on the other attacks I've seen, and the face that my opponent's CC has 20/25, I'm 99% sure it's a dragon inside.
Umm, so yeah...I had 6 wizards and 1 archer in my CC. I dropped my CC right next to their CC and the dragon came out. I then surrounded the dragon with another 6 archers and 2 wizards and then forgot about the dragon, figuring it was dead. Next thing I knew, here comes the dragon, picking off my PEKKAs. L2 dragon vs. L5 wizards and archers. No idea how that happened yet.
Prob the drag breathed on your CC as it was deploying, when they were all concentrated in a tight group. Some units like wiz are generally better used spread out, so try not to bring them in CC. CC is better for units like golem, witches, hogs, etc that are ok deployed at a single point.
with gowipe use golems first to get the dragon out it will breathe onnthe golem but slowly while the wizards are raged rush and 1-2-3 the dragon like nothing i never really had a problem with a dragon since wizards always followed behind the golem and would smoke the dragon into lizard soupQuote:

At the end of TH8, I would even drop a giant or hog rider to ensure I fully drew out the castle.
And OP, yes, wizards will work. You can get away with only using 1 or 2 if you position them well with similarly well-placed archers as meatshields.
If I get in a bad spot with a cc drag i make sure to rage my troops around the cc dragon if I am in deep, and it usually works for me.
This. One of my war attacks was against an unlurable TH 9 who had a max drag in CC, raged wiz took it out before it could do anything.Quote:
