Raise the non-Champion loot bonuses so the system does what it was put in place to do

I'm in Gold III right now, but I often drop trophies down to Silver because those bases are way easier to raid and pay just the same. What's that you say? I'll get less bonus? Listen, kid, the difference is 2100 gold per victory. At ten a day that's 21,000, and my collectors make that in one hour and ten minutes. And I save that hour and ten minutes by sticking to villages I can wipe out with archers and barbarians, rather than playing at Gold III where I'd need Balloons and Wizards and Dragons, oh my.

So Supercell wants us to quit trophy dropping and have every right to. I'm sure newer players hate it when a much more powerful village rolls right over them. But I'm sorry, you'll have to do better than 3800 or even 5700. It's just not worth the time and trouble. You're going to have to bribe me more than that to stay in Gold III where I belong. Maybe if we got the Champion treatment, proportionally of course.

Analysis:

Gold III Bonus: 3800 gold, 3800 elixir
Champion Bonus: 100,000 gold, 100,000 elixir, 600 dark elixir

Lets say a Gold III and a Champion raid ten times a day and come up with ten victories.

Gold III paid 38,000 to look through ten villages per victory, on average. 380 x 10 x 10. Gold III makes zero gold in bonuses.

Gold III's army costs 60,000. Ten armies are 600,000 then, and the 38,000 bonus elixir gives them back 6.3% of what they spent.

Champion paid 75,000 to look through villages as Gold III did. Let's say Champion is extravagant and goes out with eight Level 3 PEKKAs and one Level 3 Dragon, because the army max is 220 and not 225. This army costs 372,000 elixir, and ten of them costs 3,720,000 elixir. Champion's total bonus of 1,000,000 gold leaves a profit of 925,000 gold. The total elixir bonus of 1,000,000 returns a whopping 26.8% of the investment. (Perhaps a less extravagant Champion could get that up to 50%? 100% with all archers?)

So you see the disparity here. Even at 1500 trophies the bonuses are inconsequential and provide no motive for me to stay in Gold III. The reward is not enticing enough for a Town Hall 7 player to say, not drop back down to the Silver III division where I can clear a village with three Dragons and rake in 150,000 gold (and a 1700 bonus, woo hoo).

So, the Champions have a darn good reason to stay Champions, but us non-Champions have absolutely no motivation to stay where we are. It doesn't become worthwhile to stay where you are until MAYBE Crystal II, where the 100 dark elixir bonus lets you at least maintain a Minion battalion regardless of how much dark elixir your opponent is carrying.

What would it take to make me stay Gold III? To really fight for those trophies because I don't want to loose that sweet, sweet bonus deal? 16,000 gold, 16,000 elixir, 40 dark elixir. Why those numbers? They're comparable to Champion. It's roughly 26% of what Mr. Hypothetical Gold III spends on an army.

(And don't gimme that "don't flood them with gold" stuff. Bringing 250 walls from Level 8 to Level 10 costs ONE BILLION gold. Billion. Nine zeroes. I think the economy can take 16k here and there.)

The 40 dark elixir is based on the Hog Rider being the best Dark Elixir Troop a Town Hall 7 can buy. Champions can buy Golems for 450 each, but get 600. So the bonus is 4/3 of the best Dark Troop. In Gold III's case, 4/3 * 30 = 40.

Good idea to put math into this and I feel that would be fair. An even better way to do it so it SEEMED significant would be to hold the bonuses for the week and give them to you. So, say you were a silver 1 and you got 10k loot bonuses each round. However, you love to attack, and attacked 100 times and won all of them! Then, you lucky duck, you would get 1 million gold at the end of the week! Now, that's my opinion, but I really like your bit about making the bonuses proportional.

One of the best arguements for it on the forum. I see the bonuses being upped soon. Hopefully I'm right.

Wow, you must be very old as we are kiddos to ya. Ok grandpa, besides all the whinning stuffs you wrote (whine, whine, whine here and there-whose the "kid" now?) I'd rather them to work on the percentage of the resources you can raid, then working on these bonus.

First of all thanks for the bonus, I am thankful that we actually get them, but then loots that we can raid are much lesser. Sigh...

This is a legitimate problem Super cell needs to up the bonuses. If hey raise the amount you can steal per raid it would be much harder to save money thus reducing the "addictive ness" to the game. If your bored or frustrated with a game most of he time you will quit it. This will reduce players (If you dot understand SUPERCELL DOESN'T WANT THIS!) in conclusion don't increase the total amount you can raid, INCREASE BONUSES!!!!!! :)

He is right, 2000-5000 parking fee is just 10% from the added loot penalties.
They keep adding and adding the loot penalties so we will buy resources using money.
And that's crazy cause even travian can't buy resources.

The bonus should be increased, but I disagree with the argument.

First off the argument makes assumptions about what armies people use by basically pulling figures out of thin air. Second it seeks to draw a parallel based on those figures and compares them against leagues.

Even if the made up figures were accurate, why should gold get the same comparative benefit as champion? Champion should be higher both relatively and absolutely. It is much harder to maintain.

Maybe whilst adjusting the loot bonus make the bonus for each star to encourage people to go for bigger wins rather than just the th star.

maybe for each additional star the bonus goes up.

So for the first star you get 5000 say then for the second star you get an additional 7500 and if you 3 star the base you get 30,000 in total ( of each that is)

Dahimi is half right, specifically the bottom half.

The numbers were NOT pulled out of thin air. Gold III's army costs were based on my own. Champion's army costs were maxed out to show that even in a worst case scenario the rewards are still an amazing and rewarding incentive to remain in the Champion League. There IS no reasonable in-game situation where Gold III has a mathematical advantage to remain in Gold III.

If Supecell is using this system to discourage trophy dropping then set rewards that actually discourage me from trophy dropping.

I do agree with the second point. While 6.3% of spent elixir is too low a reward for Gold III, perhaps the Champion's 27% is a bit too extravagant. Perhaps the percentage should increase as one advances through leagues. Maybe Gold III should get 18% and work it's way to 27%.

Supercell probably has real data on what people are spending on troops. If they used real data for army spending and had bonuses increase from say...10 to 30 as you advanced there might be less trophy dropping. Actually Supercell might have that data also.

Is anyone here FROM Supercell? Has the league system prevented trophy dropping and I'm just weird for doing the math?

No one is hating on the farmers. For the TL;DR, here's the point:

The league bonuses are too small to work as incentives to stay in your league.

Not the point: Getting more gold.

I suppose we could sit here and type is/isn't/zomg y u hat farmerz u noob untill our fingers fall off and organize labor unions against us, but that would be silly since Supercell actually HAS the data and pays people to study these things for a living. For all I know this League Bonus Thing stopped exactly as much trophy dropping as they wanted it to. However, I stand by my original post: The bonus will not stop ME from trophy dropping. You're going to have to pay me better.

Now this is is a better idea rather than just by simply increasing it, make it proportional to your win

I was stoked when the system come in - something needed to be done to give value to those who have high trophies. But I don't think it's working quite as well as it could.

I'm only a lv 7 hall, around 1,400 trophies right now and a vast majority of my matches are lv 8 & 9 halls. They have lv 5 & 6 troops for crying out loud, they could very easily climb the ladder but must not think the benefit outweighs been able to farm off TH7 players will lv 11 pumps...

nice analysis. The loot is a nice little bonus, but it's not much. If supercell really wants to discourage trophy dropping, then they need to make a sever penalty for losing your town hall. Maybe an extra loss of 10%-20% of your resources, or your town hall holds significantly more loot than 1k gold/elixir (like 50k or 100k).
