Shake to collect feature

I think there should be a shake to collect resources feature. You shake your phone/tablet and you collect all resources on your base instead of tapping on each collector, mine, and drill. Supercell has already simplified boosting, wall selection, and rearming. Why not simplify how resources are collected? not only would this be an easier way of collecting, but more convenient as well. This would allow people who have to quickly put the game down to do something the opportunity to collect one last time before logging off, and also would make it possible for one to quickly log on, collect, and get off. I think the shake gesture might also be able to be incorporated in attacking some how but I'll leave that up to debated, maybe shake to use an earthquake spell or something? Anyways, what do you guys think?

I always am about to finish up with my game so it take me a good 10sec to finish collecting my stuff, and by that time there still is a little loot left no matter how much I try this is a great way to be efficient with your time, so you can go on really fast when you are farming, just collect loot and go/

I've seen where similar threads have people stating that collecting helps add endless excitement every time you tap a bubble and collect a resource. While I agree with this argument I also feel this option would be equally exciting. Especially if SC made the collected resources burst upwards like they do when you tap them only when you shake your device they all burst up at once. That would keep people excited, and the shake feature would greatly help those of us that would like the speed of being able to jump on, shake to collect, and jump off. When you're a gamer and live in the real world with a job, kids, etc.. being able to log on simply to get resources to storages where they are safer from attacks until you have the chance to get back on log enough to do something with them would be a big help. Do't take the tap feature out though so that people who want to tap can tap away. This is just a simple feature that could not hurt anyone but help many.

I totally love this idea!it would speed up the process of collecting. I log on about 30 to 40 times a day and collect every time. This would mean a lot less time spent on my phone just to collect. And for the old devices the option of tapping individual pumps still stays the same. If you want this feature, better upgrade your device :)

Yeah the purpose for the post is for the shake and collect option. The other thought just popped in my head as I was typing. I haven't given it much thought, and only included it to see if anyone else might come up with something. Just trying to get the storms brewing in people's brains. As for old devices without gyroscopes, I don't think that should stop SC from considering the shake feature. do that many people still own a device without a gyroscope? I'm sure a few do but those device's processors would also be slow and that doesn't stop SC from improving graphics and adding contents to COC and BB which could have more of a negative effect on said gamers more so than not being able to shake and collect resources. Atleast if they didn't have the gyroscope there would still be the option to tap and collect, where as if your processor can know longer keep up than you can't play.

Make a TH button, like the ones for rearming traps and refilling ammo.

I absolutely love this idea.

Nice idea! I've wanted some sort of collect all feature for a while.

Regarding it not working on older devices because they have no gyroscope - I cant imagine COC would work on those old devices anyway.

I don't agree, I have cracked up every time someone says how it is an exciting pastime going around tapping each separate resource collector.....Like..... Whooooheee, that was intense huh?!! especially when I am standing on a crowded bus getting jostled from all directions I love any extra work I have to do on my screen no matter what it is.

I support this idea a lot. I like it better than the collect all putton idea that has been oft proposed.

Yes some older devices wont have the hardware. So to them its no difference. But not a reason to not do the idea. Goo suggestion!!

It has nothing to do with being lazy. It has to do with adding something to help those short on time. As a father of a 6 month old, if she cries I and it is my turn to tend to her I don't want to have to say hang on a second sweetie or just a minute to my wife while I collect my resources since I just raided and need to tap 17 more times before closing a game when I could shake my phone and throw it away. Not to mention people that work. Headed to the bathroom? I could shake my phone with my other hand and collect resources and go right back to work. This is just an idea that would really help us gamers with really busy lives to secure our resources more frequently.

Seriously, if I always collected sitting in an easy chair I would be fine with the old way. but to be checking in to collect at regular intervals I have times where it is a less than easy task. Above I gave the standing on the bus example but there are many times or environments where I need to do it in a quick, easy, and unobtrusive way. So this would be perfect.

This idea is perfect! If they can't do a little shake at least add a button so we can "collect all elixir" and "collect all gold"! Genius!

How about tap th then press collect all resources. Shaking my ipad may result in me hitting my child on the head or worse. Dropping it on the floor. Also playing on the toilet will look a bit suspect if someone walks in and you're sitting there shaking 😜😜

I sounds like a good idea but why shake it and not have a button to press just to collect all the loot in the mines, drills and pumps.:cool:

I think this idea has some what of going somewhere, but I don't like it because I know myself and others like to play Clash of Clans in the car, so the shake feature doesn't really work since the car is in motion.

Giving two shakes of a device would get more tiresome than tapping 17 resources to collect? If you get tired from shaking your device twice you could still tap to collect. This feature wouldn't replace the current system just add another way to do it.

Rather they just added a "collect all" button somewhere - perhaps when clicking TH it would show rearm, reload, collect all........

Ok, so while this is an awesome idea i dont think it should be shake to collect. Mainly because some people have large tablets and it is hard to shake, or the smaller devices you try to move and it accidentally shakes and collects. Thats a problem because some people like to save the resources for a upgrade and dont want to collect, for some reason. Just like the war cc people like to save the loot for later. I'm thinking you could change it to maybe a button on the side of the screen, or when you collect one mine/collector there is a button saying "Collect all". Please reply if you think that is better or worse!

This is a good idea and I like it personally but it may not work because some phones and tablets don't have a "rumble" feature or that they can be shaken to do anything.

This is what has me most excited, I love the loot eruption that occurs when I collect. I don't like chasing down every building because I sometimes miss one. This can be a problem if I do so while logging off. I would love to see everything go off at once, and know they did.

I also have an OCD thing, I like to see even numbers when I collect, this would keep them VERY even.

This feature should include a collect all TH button, and should not affect Clan Castle loot.

I don't see how a tablet can be so large that it is "hard to shake". Maybe you should try another method like holding it horizontally with one hand on each side and rolling your wrists up and down. It is really easy to get a forceful shake regardless of tablet size if you just loosen your wrists. I could see where if you had your wrist locked therefore having to shake the tablet with your entire arm might would get tiresome which is also hard to understand seeing is tablets don't weigh much at all. As far as an accidental shake while using a smaller device, the code that would be written for this feature would be written where a set number of shakes at a required minimum force would trigger the collection to occur. Let me clairify for the next reader who will argue my last statement. It could be written that 'n' number of shakes registered at 'f' amount of force within 't' seconds would trigger a collection. These variables would be used in an equation in the code, tweeked during development and testing to determine the happy spot regarding amount of shakes and force needed when using both a tablet and phone before implementing the feature. I know there would be a value for each variable that would make it easy to collect when you actually want to but difficult to collect on accident. If however you loose a raid and throw a tantrum than you may collect accidentally in which case maybe said player would learn not to throw tantrums. For the players that don't want to collect and want to save resources in collectors this is often done when your storages are full. When your storages are full and you try to collect you do not loose resources. The bubbles above your collectors go away but the resources remain, trust me I did this when going to TH10 I had my storages, CC, and collectors full with gold and elixir. This feature is also just to collect from mines, drills, and collectors not your CC so that wouldn't be an issue. I see where a lot of people are saying that they would like a collect all button on their TH. I am not against that. I just did not suggest it because I created this thread for the shake to collect feature. The shake and button could easily coexist together without fear that the game would implode. Some people also say that their device doesn't have a shake feature. This to me is hard to believe on any device that has the processing capability to run COC. If there are devices like that and you see this comment please reply so that I know never to buy such a device in today's times. Thanks for all of the feedback and I hope to keep this going so that SC will see it.

I couldn't agree much. I'm in high school. Our school is very big and it takes like 3 min to get from one class to another + on our school is a lot of people. So I have 2 min to collect gold, elixir and dark elixir and I'm a leader so I read all the chat to see what's going on. So usually teachers scream at me cause i have to collect it while class :( I definetly need that shake'n'collect :P

It is nothing like voice controlling a TV when you have a remote, which is a an option these days. It is a simplified way of doing a multi step task. It eliminates the need to tap 17 times by just either tapping 2 times with the collect all button, or no tapping and just shaking. Re arming traps, xbows, and infernos was pretty simple before the update but that didn't stop them from adding the re arm all and reload all option which to my knowledge no one has complained about as they left the traditional arming and reloading way in the game. We didn't "need" those options but they were a nice improvement and option to give to the gamers. There are many positives to the shake to collect feature but the one I would enjoy the most is the amount of time it would save. Especially since I work now and have a 7 month old. It would be a lot easier for gamers like me to get on and collect on the fly in this fast paced world we live in if all we had to do was shake and then get off. Like I said it's not a "need" but a convenient option for those who would like a faster/easier option.

That's a good idea, but i think it would be easier to just put a button like "collect all" on the TH just like the traps button 😁

Honestly, I don't think it's needed, and I'd rather see Supercell spend their time on something wlse that have this hapen. But it can't hurt, I guess.

I think you assume this would be something that they would spend a lot of time on. Honoestly it would take less than 30 minutes to write this code. All it would be is an IF statement.

I think the error handling routines that would need to accompany this would require a bit more time than you are estimating, but its still quite doable.

Maybe for the older devices without the gyroscope, you could tap the town hall and lie, the "re-arm all" button for the traps, there could be a collect all button for the collectors. I also like the idea of new graphics when your collecting, makes it more interesting!

Ya that's true, this is such a small feature that it would require only about 17 simple lines of code a tenth grader can do (which is me). It's 10 mins tops And another 5 mins testing, each test takes about 10 secs.

She would probably be happier like mine if you could just shake it and close it out though instead of saying one second while I collect. I know it doesn't take but maybe 20 seconds but repeatedly hearing you say that every time she asks something and you have your game out I'm sure gets annoying. "Honey could you give me a hand with this?" + "Sure thing babe, as you shake and click the lock button" = happy wife happy life

This is a convenient idea :) I don't enjoy taking the time to tap all my collectors. Takes too much time.

It can be very tiring especially when you are on a long period of time, the bubbles pop up very often, so shaking the device every 5 minutes can be very annoying. A simple button would be easier.. Just sayin

You don't have to shake every five minutes; just every time you're finished playing. No one can steal resources from your collectors while you're online.

Thata not what I was saying. When the bubbles pop up, I like to tap them! Not let them stand there and make me nervous for whatever reason. Plus, which would be easier. Tapping a button on the side or shaking? (Tapping would be faster)

Yeah watched a coworker play another game and he shook his phone to collect his resources. I'm so jealous atm, lol. Would be a great feature to have.

A decent idea...but what about those whose phone can't read this shake feature????? So, it would be good if Supercell adds a button preferably on the "Total Gold/Elixir/D. Elixir" icons from where one touch can collect the corresponding resource (separate buttons... cos sometimes one of our resources are full and we don't want to waste'em) :o

I too have been waiting for a button to collect all the resources at once from your TH. The only problem I have with the shaking idea is that there are times when you don't want to collect and you could easily drop your phone and collect by an accident. Those times are when you are nearly but not fully capped, for example yesterday I went for a max inferno upgrade that costs 8M and purposefully didn't collect gold from mines for several hours, because when I was near the 8M cap I could collect, get capped, start the upgrade and not lose any loot (in case I found a base with 400k gold for example).

Another problem with the shaking is that a) some people wouldn't like it and b) older phones have WAY weaker sensors, imagine people furiously shaking the phone and nothing still happens. So I would prefer a simple button inside the TH like there is for rearming traps. And maybe this could be a thing you get with TH10 or lvl 100 or something, so only the people that are FOR SURE familiar and bored with collecting from 17 different buildings get this ability. Would also encourage ppl to level up.

Why not both? If you don't want shake to collect there could be an option in the settings and it would be replaced with a button on the th like you suggested.

It's not intended for aiding the lazy. I'm assuming you are anti lazy and instead of rearming all you tap every trap, IT, and XBow to rearm instead of using the new rearming features as your narrowed logic would apply to those features as well. If you read the entire thread before commenting you would see that I am suggesting this feature as a means to quickly get on collect and get off for those of us that have very busy lives. People that have demanding jobs, kids to raise, and just a very hectic schedule day in and day out that may not have the opportunity to get on and actually raid, collect, and spend until the day's end. This would allow said people to get on shake and get off. I estimate it would take a 1/4 of the time to get on, move resources to your more secure storages, and get off.

I am not against having the button and the shake feature coexisting together, as I have stated else where in this thread, I don't think it would cause the game to implode.

In in response the comment about dropping your phone and accidentally collecting, look through the thread and see my response regarding how the code would be written. Simply dropping your phone would initiate a collection. Maybe if you dropped your phone down a flight of stairs and it "slinkied" it's way down the stairs it MIGHT collect but with the correct equation in the code it shouldn't.

Those who think it would get tiresome during long hours of being logged on and have the need to remove the bubbles every time they appear, the addition of this feature would not force you to shake to collect. If shaking your phone/tablet 2-4 times exhausts you all you would have to do is simply not shake and tap the 17 bubbles.

In response to having the option to turn off the feature in the settings; I really like that idea and would like to expand on it a little. Maybe the setting could be constructed like this:

Shake Function: Off | Collect Resources | Rearm Traps | Rearm ITs | Rearm XBows | All

This would allow the feature to be tailored to each and everyone. I personally would just enjoy it for the resources and the quickness of being able to collect more times throughout my busy day, but I could see the advantage of the all feature. It could even be set up to where you could select a combination. Say someone isn't wanting to rearm one of the three defense or is wanting to leave resources in the collectors, said user would just leave which ever option u highlighted. Just saying it doesn't have to be left up to an ultimatum and only selecting 1 of the 6 options.

its a great idea and i would be shaking every minute but it would have to be optional because some people dont like collecting (dont know why) and it might not work for some people because not all devices sense shaking
maybe a button on the town hall will be better

It would definitely be optional. If you look a few posts down I explain how it could be set to do a variety of things as well as being turned off.

I agree as far as simplicity and ease of use, especially when busy and in a hurry, but to keep everyone happy they would probably do both. Which I would not be against. If you could do either or then why not? No one could replay complain unless they just want to do so for the sake of whining in which case they should be taken as serious as the people spamming the threads for the revival of elixir walls and the cessation of zapping DE storages.

Which device do you have? I didn't even know they made devices these days that couldn't sense that and that COC can be played on. Either way if they had the option of both, or the selection as to what shaking actually does, then you wouldn't be left out

I feel like this is a good idea, but they should leave the collect key too.

This could be a separate option! Great idea!
