So, we first get a new mine/collector level.. then when people start the upgrades, a gem boost for elixir collectors.. which means many people would have spent gems to quickly finish upgrades to avoid missing on the boost. Some would have cancelled their upgrades and would have started focusing on gold mines. And now, BAM! we have boosts for those as well. Either miss out on those or spend more gems to finish the upgrades. Well played Supercell, very clever.

I would have assumed most people would have upgraded their gold mines during the past week where had the elixir boost and would be done by now.
To be fair who cares about the collector/mine boost other than how much it fills other peoples stores. The barrack boost is where you can make the real money.Quote:

They did the exact same thing last year. I planned around with assumption they would do the same. I even posted about it, but people thought I was nuts. Awkward...
I focused on getting the additional DE drill first. Now those two are boosted - yay.
Right now I have 3 x L12 and 1 x l12 elixir collectors with one more gold upgrading. So I am loving the boost.
Pretty much all my collectors are now done on both acounts with no gemming the time....am i missing something here?

I boost the collectors so that i can gain loot while im working and holding a shield. I then boost at night to fill my storage units. been working great for the last week!! As far as the upgrades I will wait till the boost is over. My builders are busy on defenses anyway.
Got 1 day, and another with few hours. Even includes cancelling a pump to do mine when first boost announced.
SC do make some clever gem ploys, but im not seeing this one. There was enough time.
I missed out on maxing the collectors before the boost. I'm enjoying the boost so I'll upgrade them on jan 7th.
Mines are maxed though, so I'm happy to boost maxed mines for 7 days.
No consipiracy here SC actually did something good for us

Well i've only done 3/12 collectors, because i'm filled to the brim with loot all the time.
All my builders are bussy with 5mil upgrades, no time for cheap 300k ones.
