Ok so here you are: I find that 1200-1400 works very well for getting resources...

I usually stayed around that 1k range in Silver II to get decent loot and not mass raided by everyone person known like in Silver I.
I've used a variation of this

for over a month in the 1600 trophy range and have only been 3 starred once (by a dragon/lightning attack when one of my air defenses was upgrading)
They will usually only get at MOST 2 storages, usually 0-1. For some reason I find my TH getting attacked (free shield) a LOT more often with this base than others... nearly 4/5 are just on the TH :P
