I hit Master 2 with ease at TH9 using 32 death loons, 30 L5 minions, and a lava hound in the cc. Spells: 3 rage, 1 Lightning (for cc troops). A lot of times I only use 2 rage. This comp should 2 star 95% of TH9 bases and majority of weak TH10's with L1 Infernos. My AQ is L9 and BK is 10.Quote:

I'd say Hounds to 2 will give you more versatility for strong army comps. I've been able to 3 star strong Th9s with level 3 Golem based armies and level 1 Hounds(Lavaloon), but I am finding the Lavaloon to be great fun and am putting them in the Lab next. Granted my Golems to 4 will be whats finishing next but whatever, I vote Hounds!Quote:

Sorry, I'm a bit slow, been stalking this thread and watching videos of lavaloon/lavaloonion for a while, is this why some may prefer to just drop it right in the front ahead of balloons, instead of letting the balloons flying a bit and tanking a little then dropping the lava hounds so they go straight to the front and tank the rest? That way the hounds are pretty weak and are guaranteed to pop? Been trying to formulate my own strategy, still not sure about lava hound timing, when to drop it. Thanks!Quote:

Timing is the critical part of this strategy without a doubt especially if you do not lure the cc. Too early no hounds then no loons, too late no loons who cares about hounds then. I have likened the beginning of an attack to playing Flight of the Bumblebee up tempo and lord help you if you play a bum note. Many of my clan mates can not replicate my success with the strategy and they are good clashers. You need to see some failed raids to understand the pitfalls of this technique. I deploy differently depending on the base. If AD's are more towards the outsides always deploy hounds before loons. If ADs are very deep on the base (all 4 in core), deploy loons before hounds. Although holowiwi works on all 4 central ad bases, I still find lavaloonion easier. Hounds move from defense to defense so you have to plan out how you want to path your loons. I always plan to path them into wizard towers or ADs.
