Lavaloonion as a TH9 after update

Before the update I was using quattro lava loonion as a TH9 with great success. 2-3 starring most Th9's. My army comp was

4 Lava hounds lvl2
12-14 Loons lvl6
15-20 mins lvl5
6 CC loons lvl6
3 Rage lvl5
1 heal lvl6

Since the update I have really been struggling to do more than one star. I have tried mixing up my army shifting the amount of balloons and minions, trying to go to only 2 lava hounds, and even trying 26 Loons and 4 Lava hounds. Nothing seems to work. I am a decent air raider, but just cannot make this work.

Anyone using this strat as a TH9 with success? If so, what army comp and what deployment strat are you using? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't want this to be a wine thread about the hounds getting nerfed (nothing we can do about that), but it does really annoy me that they nerfed them so quickly as they were by no means over powered.

As for the exact number of units i can't be too sure off the top of my head. However, I don't have lava hounds unlocked yet (relatively new TH9) and I do balloonion attacks only in clan wars or If I have a ton of elixir and just want a change of raid quick. Anyways, I run roughly 30 loons (lvl 6) and rest minions (lvl 3) and usually archers or wizards in my cc. Heroes are both lvl 6. I usually can 2-3 star most people. I use 3 rage and 1 heal spell too.

Nice raids. Just wondering have you tried with pure LavaLoons without the minions?
We got raided by these awesome air attackers in a war recently and is absolutely in awe of how powerful they are!

Wow that is insane, thank you for posting this I will be trying it. It seems like there is no counter for this, was there any defensive set up that worked well? Btw congrats, that's a win to be proud of!

Yup that is the best war we had till date. It was such an important win for us as my clan is aiming for 100 wins before 2015. We lost another war prior to this war and can't afford to lose anymore wars. We are kinda of lucky things turned out well for us as they have a few inactives TH10.
