Optimum Trophies for Hiding?

So, for the longest time, my base has been 100% destroyed regardless of trophy count. Every time my shield drops, literally within 5 minutes some almost maxed TH9 with all lvl 6 troops will wipe me. This has happened for months, regardless of my trophy count.

I'm finally at TH9 with maxed mortars, lvl 10 archers and cannons, and lvl 5 wizards (only one crossbow), but walls only at 6. I assume that's not good enough?

The part the bothers me is at low trophy counts (say 200, where I am now, or 800, where I used to hide), I can't find anyone else hiding with high TH level. I literally blew 200k gold searching for someone with more than 10k lootable (no luck), and within 5 minutes of ending my search i get raided by some TH9 with level 7 heroes and lvl 6 troops, and what looked like a completely maxed base.

The question is: what is the optimum Trophies count for hiding?

I highly doubt the issue is your defense level, it's most likely your design. I'm a TH 8, and I've been everywhere from crystal 1 to gold 3 and I've never had the issue of being 100% consistently. Of course, there's the occasional 3-star, but it's very rare. Even with over 1k DE and 200k gold available (and as always 300k elixir), it really hasn't been too common.

It could be your walls, could be your defenses, but it seems like it's the design more than anything. Possibly put up a screenshot so we can really deduce the issue.

As for your actual question, there's no place you can "hide" and still get decent loot. To get good loot, you need a trophy range with equal peers if you will, you can't expect to get good amounts from TH 7s and below. On the other hand, TH 7s and below are going to be the people that ignore your base.

Something else I'd recommend is to get a farming base, what may be happening is that the weaker players skip your base, knowing that they won't get anywhere, leaving only the high players to attack it. And when they see your early TH 9 base, they go for it and you end up getting 3-starred. Running a farming base tempts weaker players to attack you and snipe the TH, giving them little loot and a handful of trophies, but leaving you with a shield.

I find as a TH9 with a farming base that I get sniped 95% of the time around 2000-2100. Not quite high enough for people to attack you because they are pushing, not so low that people zap your de storage. Having said that, I'm about a week away from maxed defences and I'm working on lvl 9 walls.

There is definitely something wrong if you're getting 3 starred all the time.

It would help if you would post a picture of your base so we can take a look.

Your defenses sound like they're at a decent level, but level 6 walls are really low for TH9. That is likely part of the problem.

Do you log out with a lot of loot in your storages? At TH9, ~3 million gold/elixir and 50,000 dark elixir will put you at the loot cap (350k gold/elixir and 2,500 dark elixir available to steal), which would make you a juicy target.

The best place to hide is at 2000+ trophies with your town hall out and untrapped. The simple fact is, right now, at your current trophy count, the only people that have any reason to attack you are people that want to full on raid you. If you were in a higher league where the league bonus was high enough to make you worth sniping you would find a lot of people that would attack your town hall just for the league bonus and leave the rest of your base alone. Climb to at least 2000 trophies (2200 would be better) and stay there. You can raid other bases for the league bonus yourself and you will be quickly sniped for the league bonus when you log out (as long as you leave your town hall out).

I went ahead and looked through my history, and turns out I'm not getting 3 starred every single time (maybe 1/3 - 1/2), but I am getting full looted almost every time, at around 60% destroyed.

I sit around 1900-2100 as a th9 and 9/10 times I log off I just get sniped straight away and that's it, where you are there is no point in sniping you as no loot bonus for them, so you will get full attacked every time.

I'd say move your th right to the corner, not defended at all and change your base up a bit, have more gaps inside and place traps inside but have more gaps than traps so the attacker isn't sure where to go.

Right now it's pretty obvious where to go to get in and once in there isn't any gaps except for the obvious teslas.

Very true....best place to "hide" is somewhere near a milestone with town hall out. Try placing decorations surrounding the base side of your town hall also, with the increasing number of trappers snipers seem to be getting a little jumpy if it looks like there is any possibility of traps......I see towns all the time with questionable th locations that just sit there collecting waiting for a full scale attack whereas my 9 will get snipes within 10 minutes even down to 1500.

True that. As an offensively maxed TH10 I can 3* Barch that with no spells. Get your walls up too.

You can try a base like mine with funnels, all traps inside perimeter and townhall out. I have no experience with rushing so I have no idea if it will be as good for you as it is for me. I think you need at least 1200 trophies to search my clan, then obviously I am HeliSmith. Copy it if you want it I don't care, good luck. Clan is RackaDiscriprin if you can't see signatures..

put your th into a corner and make sure ppl can see its not trapped. You will get a fair percent of snipers ...your loot will be safe for a time.

But...Im sorry to agree that your defences are puny and your walls look inviting...if I came your way , I'd snipe your th...survey the loot on offer, if it was half way decent I would go for the three star too. only one xbow ...baby wiz towers...it will take you a little while to ward off the steamrollers being a premmie like that. :(

But if you persevere you'll be fine. Many rushers have recovered from bases like that and went on to be beast th10s eventually :)

just dont give up.
