The stupidest thing I have ever seen in a long time.

So listen to this ♥♥... In clan war... Doing my attack, max gowipe, with level 18 BK and level 20 AQ. I run through this guys base, everything goes perfectly (minus the BK and Pekkas going slightly to the side. However, the AQ is locked onto the TH and the only thing hurting her is one level one inferno (this was their number one base, I was not aiming low). This is where things go wrong though... A wizard triggers a skeleton trap. ONE LITTLE SKELETON makes its way to my AQ. She kills it.... This stupid piece of programming walks ALL THE WAY around the base, using a jump spell to get to the other skeletons. At that point, it became a 77% one star..... The TH was half dead.... I don't care if skeleton traps were designed to work like this. At least, however, make it to where whatever triggers the skeleton trap gets focused by all skeletons. I literally could have just lot a war because of that.

Skeletons too OP! Broken! Nerf now!

Skeleton traps can be super useless (Putting outside base) or Super effective (By toying with the flawed AI). I do think it should be fixed but in some way that it still can distract troops and ruin some attacks if placed correctly but your situation seems like it worked "too much"

I know that it is meant to distract your troops but that is just way too messed up haha.

SC will gonna re-program st soon, and you will see.

it does not make sense that small trap like ST to pull heavy troops ( PK lvl 5 and BK 30 and wiz ) from the core to outside. if SC will not gonna change it, then there will be no diff whether you attack by BK lvl 5 or BK lvl 30 ??! Pekka lvl 1 or Pekka lvl 5.

i think they are fine as they are, most people arent smart enough to use em right.

There is a difference. One goes to the other side of the base and dies, the other goes to the other side of the base and comes back for more.

Or you take out the trap with wiz, archers, etc. before it pulls your troops far away.

Yeah. I think troops with housing spaces of greater than 5 (and Heroes) should ignore the skulleys until they come within 2 tiles of their space. If the skulleys LEAVE this 2 tile range, then the troops should go back to what they were doing before.

Fair enough, on a max TH 10 base you can't afford to have your troops running around the opponent's base. But it's still pretty easy to just take out the skellies when they appear, unless you're, for some reason, running a two pronged attack from opposite sides of a base.

I love skelly traps in my base, hate em when raiding.!

I think this is exactly what they were designed to do. It keeps the game interesting because something so small could come back and bite you in the ♥♥♥♥. It turns a 100% win into a 90% win which makes it fun (although sometimes could be frustrating) because ♥♥♥♥ could happen anytime no matter how good you are. I would rather have a game where things are a bit unpredictable and find a way to deal with pesky stuff in game. I mean what's the point of getting 2-star and 3-star all the time with big armies and heroes. It'd get old really fast that way. It's not stupid at all. Things like this are actually what makes Clash of Clans better than those copy cats out there.

Exactly. As a th9 I was gowipe-ing th10s for two stars in war. It got easy after a while. I like how the skeleton traps add another level of challenge to the gowi-whatever raids because they were getting too easy in my opinion. It is a challenge again to master the distraction factor.

I have had a few 1 stars and fails because people correctly placed the traps and my troops went nuts looking for one skeleton, and I didn't react/plan accordingly. I've also seen them on the outside were a wizard or few archers eliminate them in the first few seconds. It's like every other traps where it can be underutilized or correctly placed.

Conversely, my defensive wins in war are amazingly entertaining as a lvl 30 king wanders into range of an inferno tower to try and find a skeleton or two.

Skeleton Traps have enhanced the game. They dont need to be nerfed or tweaked to the degree this thread is dicussing.

I like you matured comment but I disagree with you

clashers cant set ST up to avoid 2 star from TH10 . ST pulls heavy troops and the raid has become playing dice more than organized attack ( it is your bad day if st pulls your army outside the core ). I don't think SC will keep ST and make the game as playing dice.

Bad luck mate. The unpredictability of attacks make this game fun.

strategy games mean organized plan (attack in CoC ) and if SC will keep ST as it is right now, then wat is the difference between playing dice and playing CoC ?!

The fun in CoC as I see is the planning and organized attack, not in the playing dice . just watch how TH-10 clashers 3star max bases, it is not about unpredictability, it is about how to organize their attacks, wat troops and how /where to use them wisely.

This is a game of mostly skill with a little bit of luck thrown in. A good mix of luck and skill make the game interesting.

Other games which also have a varying degree of luck and skill include: poker, monopoly, collectible card games, mahjong etc. As opposed to a game like chess which is 100% dependent on skill.

This is just how the game is designed, have fun with it.

1- hog and GB
2- Heros
3- AT
4- Inferno
5- walls with elixir
....etc


ST is not exception, SC can make any code modification at any time. at the end, everyone has an opinion and SC will evaluate ST and decide whether to make code modification or not.

Exactly this...

It's the purpose of the skeleton trap, to be a strategic and effective distraction defense. As many people stated it can be worthless or useful depending on the location of the trap, in my opinion the guy you attacked deserved the protection of the base.

If you think about it, nearly every defense/trap in the game is stupid. Just look at infernos. Disco balls shooting fire? Absolutely ridiculous... blasphemy!

you wrote half of the truth ( depending on the location of the trap ).

it really depends on the attacking side. if the attacker selects a side where st are there, army might be distracted and ST will pull the army outside the core. if the attacker selects a side where st are not, then sts are useless.

for the attackers, the game has become playing dice and not matter how the attackers plan his raid properly, a small trap may ruin the raid from 2-star max base to 1-star or even 0-star :)

my clan lost 2 stars (easily) from max bases cuz ST pulled BK and Pekka lvl 5 from the core to outside :) .

in the OP what triggered the second ST??...

ST's around an exposed TH can be just as annoying as a Telsa......

Guess that's one of the advantages of using a hog army for a 2/3 star approach. By the time heroes are dropped all the skellies are pretty much triggered.

2 starring a maxed base shouldn't be easy. Some people still do it and some people even manage three. Yes, the addition of another trap makes attacks harder, you have to adapt and learn like everyone else or fall behind, if other people can still do it so can you. This would make skill more important in deciding the winner of wars.

lol I would like to see the replay. But yeah, SKeleton trap is ok, but it shouldn't be hidden. That puts too much emphasis on luck instead of a good stragety

that's wat I'm talking about, pulling BK and 3 Pekkas from the core by small ST ruins the raids .

Royals Vs Royals does not exist by pulling the main troops of the army, I'm not talking about myself or express my feelings about ST. it does not matter, I can adapt to it. but wat is the point to prepare heavy army when the clashers know the chance that the army will be pulled outside the core by st is 50/50 ??! the game has become playing dice not strategy game.
