Lightning Rod

How about a lightning rod as a new defensive structure? I am sick and tired of these degenerates swiping my dark elixir with three lighting spells - sometimes without even getting a shield! A lightning rod would diffuse the damage of a lightning spell. Only one available per village, and it could be placed next to any one structure. At level 1 it could diffuse 70% of the damage of a lightning spell. At level 2, 80%, and at level 3, 90%. It could be available at town hall level 7 or 8. During clan wars, it could be moved to protect any other structure such as an air defense or mortar. I know I used to take out one air defense with three lightning spells when I was still using mass dragon attacks. This way it could have some utility during clan wars in addition to protecting a dark elixir storage (or any other building) in the regular village. It could be destroyed just like any other structure, and once it was destroyed it could no longer offer protection against lightning. This way, you actually have to work to farm dark elixir.

I am also sick and tired to see people posting the thread that idea have been suggest for millions of time. :) no one say that you must not use the search function... Right ?

I assume you are one of the degenerates who farms dark elixir with lightning. I know this subject has been posted about
before, but I have never seen a solution such as mine. Why don't you comment on the actual idea. I'm sure you have the time as you wait for your lightning spells to cook.

Not only has this idea been suggested before, some variation of it comes up about 5 times a day. People can farm DE however they like. Even if you find this tactic cheap. It's part of the game, time for you to get used to it. The world won't end because you lose a little DE. I promise.

As someone who doesn't zap and can earn 25K of DE in a day without breaking a sweat in Crystal 2, I don't think Zapping is a problem.

It's a punishment for being in low leagues. Either get out of the low leagues or suffer through it.

Both of my accounts, now that my Alt has broken into Crystal 3, hasn't been zapped in a long time. Last guy to zap me took a whooping 400 de. Big whoop, I can get 4x that in a single raid with ease...

I wonder how many zap victims are getting zap revenged?

Oh now isn't that an interesting question....

Maybe those of us that don't prey on the weak aren't getting zapped....

Those that are are the ones getting their just dessert....

hate to be blunt... actually i dont, these threads about lightning spells are completely pointless as supercell is never going to do anything, just revenge them, or go to a higher league, it is a good strategy

Admittedly, I have not trolled every forum about this subject as this game is only a small part of my life. I also understand life goes on after my DE gets lightning'd away. I get it. This is not a new complaint, but it's a part of the game I find annoying. That's why I made a post in the section of this forum entitled "IDEAS & FEATURE REQUESTS."

Lightning is doing the job it was designed for.

It is supposed to damage buildings or troops in a small area. Damage to any resource building (inc th) results in lost resources. It has been doing this since day 1, long before your precious DE was even in the game. Back in those days, Lightning cost gold. People occasionaly used their spare zaps on elixir stores.


Lightning costs a lot of elixir and time to produce, and gains very little DE in return.


Why does it bother you so much how you lose your resources? ... would you prefer I steamrollered your base for everything, and three stars, or just zap you for a dribble of DE, and leave you some trophies as part payment?


Their is no honour in this game --- it is all about looting as much as you can, however you can.


Also, if you are about to give me the "takes no skill" argument, forget it --- I can pretty much close my eyes, and steamroll a TH8 base with my balloons and minions, taking all the loot in the meantime


Stop crying, build a proper big army and go raid someone.... or join the club, produce some zaps, and go get some easy DE yourself --- you will find it to be an ineffective strategy though -- there are easier ways to get DE. and most people eventually realise this ---- personaly I just zap people, so that they come to the forums and cry like little girls ---- trolls gotta feed as well you know. :cool:


Supercell have allready decreased the amount of DE each zap can take.


If you use the search function, you will find many threads and polls where this has been debated ad nauseum -- some of them even have some rational and well thought out arguments for and against --- however it looks like supercell, and the majority of forum users don't care enough to change it any more.

No, No and No!!

Reasons why I hate this stuff:

- There are a bajillion threads suggesting the SAME idea with the SAME name and SAME function. USE THE SEARCH BAR!
- It's basically nerfing the Lightning spell
- No offence, but people who wanted some anti-lightning-spell-thing are quite lazy. Just move leagues to where you'll avoid zappers! I'm in G2 and I haven't been DE zapped in like a month. If you want to farm DE then go up to crystal, get a good army composition and farm what DE you want. Ain't that hard.
- I believe SC already did something about it. Raising DE storage HP
- Again relating to the laziness thing, unless you have a couple thousand DE up for grabs then DE zapping shouldn't really be a prob. If you get a couple hundred zapped then just click the NEXT button a few times and you'll eventually find some easy base with a large amount of DE, gaining the zapped DE back and getting more!
- TBH, I find a lot of the anti-zapping people are zappers themselves. Go round zapping DE and whining about their DE getting zapped. *Sigh* hypocrites.
