2 star - X% of trophy's and full win bonus
3 star - 100% of trophy's and full win bonus
This is for regular game play and not war...
I will add this with an edit:
1 star - TH or 50%
2 star - TH and 50% or 75%
3 star - 100%
Is that the reason you were looking for? I feel I have fulfilled your why requirement and backed it up....it is not just me and my ranting that want this changed.... With that being said....is a 1 star still good enough? Considering SC has already said that you should get a 1 star 95% of the time when you attack...on average.
I think you also need to look at it from the Farming vs Clan war point of view.
Farming is dictated by how efficient you can get resources while maintaining your trophies.
1. You usually stay in a range where there is good loot
2. You pick your opponents base on the loot they carry
3. You usually dont care about trophies unless to stay in the range. Hence the reward for 1 star attacks. And dropping trophies. Its to make the system work for farmers(majority of the players).
4. If you see a collector raid, will you pass that? Because you cant get two stars? If you see a lower level townhall with good loot, will you skip it because it offers no challenge? Why not just attack the first base you see and try to three star it if thats your purpose?
5. The purpose of farming is to strengthen your offense AND DEFENSE for clan wars and trophy pushing.
6. Barch is and will always be a farming strategy. Some have pushed its limits to masters or champs league but the primary purpose is to see if it can be used to farm league bonuses.
7. It is wasteful to look for bases you can two star and bases with loot at the same time. We already spend a good amount of time to look for bases with resources. Nexting adds no fun to the players. Its a sunk cost. There is no value to it so I think it would be unwise to add extra metrics to look for.
8. Again, i would like to repeat that purpose is the key. You have missed this from other posts. What is your goal? To trophy push? Or to max out your base?
9. Most of the fun in the game is had during attacks because you can get better at them. No one would play this game if they make it too difficult to win resources. Farming would be impossible.
Clan wars/trophy pushing
1. This is where offense and defense matters
2. This is the avenue where supercell expects you to be competitive.
P.S. I noticed your location says "Playing COC at work". Isn't that considered mediocrity? If you truly are competitive, why not focus your energies on the things that matter? Looking back, maybe thats why the star system is easy. Maybe Supercell designed the game to CATER TO CASUAL GAMERS AND COMPETITIVE WORKERS.
