Missed this one... So you are a decent level, you will get this quick. In an 8 hour frame, I can attack 10-30 times giving boost/army comp etc... I can muster 0-30 wins in that time frame....then COC boots me for 10 mins...low and behold a defense or 2 in that time frame...lets say I win 1 and lose the other. So I am 30 attack wins 1 def win, 1 def loss...and I get a shield. I come back and start attacking again with the same results for another 8 hours....with that being said... I would have only received 2 defensive bonuses.....is that really breaking SC's bank on a bonus? And that, very obviously, answers your question of why the def wins/succ attacks are not 50/50.....I thought you already knew this?
That bonus does come out of SCs pocket. that have that built into the game economy. That economy is something they have very carefully balanced so that the value of the in game currency goes neither up or down and also so that (and this is the part you are gonna have trouble talking them out of) in the end they walk away with a lot of profits.
They don't care if a win is a win or if you deserve anything or not. They expect you to raid (so stealing from another player) to cover the rearming costs, not for them to foot that bill. So regardless of whether you feel its right or wrong, they are not going to give any of that up. They are not here to give you what you want, they are here to make money off you. So to get what you want you have to come up with a way that giving that to you in the end produces a profit for them.
If you can do 8 hours of straight attacking you are more man than I. The best I can do (not sure if you or I are closer to normal usage) is to do an attack, then go live my life while troops remak for an hour or two, then another attack, then offline with my life. So in between those attacks I am getting hit a few times, sine I have zero stars I get no shield so its actually a lot of times. So a guy like me (sorry if this is an odd level of usage to not be on straight for 8 hours) is going to get a lot more defensive wins vs offensive wins so that would be a lot of payouts SC has to do.
But no matter, it makes no difference whether its a lot or only a little, its still something. To convince SC to pay for it there has to be a reason they would want to, so there has to be something in it that makes it a profit for them. So far I think your reason seems to be based on 'because I want it'. But do you have some reason other than that which you can say why they gain something for themselves if they do it? Please tell me. (even if you thought I knew this.)
Since I of course would love to get something for my defenses I would eagerly embrace anything you came up with that would make sense from SCs point of view.
The point being what impresses you doesn't matter. A win is a win, like you say.
When the attacker loses, the defender gets trophies. The game from SCs perspective is about trophies not resources. Clearly the defender has something to lose. What I'm acting like is that it doesn't matter. When a person attacks your base, the ball is in their court and you've already agreed that no matter what they -can- win.
The only way there should be a defense bonus is if they ever allow you to do anything now that you can view attacks live.
Why are you replying to me and arguing other people's points? I never said it would break the bank.
As as for your hypothetical, where it matters this is seldom the case. The moment a top ranked person logs, someone attacks them and nearly every time, the attacker wins. If this weren't the case, why wouldn't they just break their shield and log off?
Again, there is no way a th7 is getting a defense win at 4k trophies.
That was just a "for instance" any way you go about it, your attacks will always outweigh your defenses...unless you are a die hard farmer then all you will have is defenses and again....one or two defensive wins every 12 hours is not that significant in the big picture.
Bottom line.....it is just "the right thing to do"....I know it is cliche....but it really is...
I would love for SC staff to give me a legitimate-makes-sense reason why it is not offered. It is not like we would be breaking the imaginary bank. It may even speed up play. I would love a list of pro's and con's from SC on this....I am sure the pro's would outweigh the con's:
Pro's
Inject loot into the economy
Give a reason to upgrade defenses
Make defense mean something
Slow down TH sniping
Make defending more meaningful
Con's
.........can you really think of any
SC gives a defensive win bonus.........which in turn goes right back to COC for reset/refill.......
It is not like I am asking for gems or anything of significance that would dent SC's wallet.
1. Huh?... I didn't reply to you on that one...I replied to rwelshjr...do not know what you were looking at for that.... if you are looking at the 50/50 quote...that was you...look at your previous responses. Using the phrase "breaking the bank"...was just that...using the phrase....not using other peoples points toward you just reinforcing the point I was making..with a metaphor.
2. You are only talking about high level players, I am talking all players in general. Most high level players have a shield schedule that they go by and would really be the least effected in either way by the defensive win bonus.
So what is really your point...you do not like the idea therefore you are so close minded you have to be dismissive to a valid suggestion? Why are you just focusing on the top upper tier players and not all of the players in COC? This really is a beneficial idea with a real reward for "playing the game" as it was intended. If someone can stop me from getting a "win" on their base....yes....they should be rewarded with a defensive win bonus..regardless of league level or exp level. Why is that so hard to grasp? What is your real problem with this suggestion other than No I don't like it? Explain why this is bad for the COC economy? Why is this bad in general? What would this really hurt? Who wouldn't benefit from it? If you have something constructive to add, please do, if the idea needs amending, please add something constructive. Take a step back and look at the big picture, this would benefit all of COC, not just high, med or low level players.
