A good addition that would be nice and not hard to add would be player statistics.
By that I mean personal stats.
which may include:
Total attack victories/loses
Total defense victories/loses
Most gold/exilir raided
Most gold/exilir stolen from
amount of gold/exilir spent
Etc.

Exactly so you can actually see progress and your cores it would be rather easy for them to add as they track alot in the achievement unlocks.

Was just talking to a couple of clan mates today , they said they've lot interest in the game because there is nothing to achieve. I agree with this statement.
Take a game like modern warfare 3, even though you max out, there are still ways to distinguish yourself from other players. One of the key areas is stats. In Mw3 , we got accuracy, kill /death ration, win/loss ratio etc
In clash of clans we can have the following,even if it resets weekly
Attack success ratio , successful attacks vs total attacks
Defense success ratio , successful defences vs totaldefences
Resources /attack - measures your skill at attacking, total resources gained (each type separated)/number of attacks
Resources lost /defence -conversely total resources lost per attempt on your base.
attack efficiency - this would be totals of all troops and spells spent on attacks vs resources gained. True measure of skill of farmers
trophy efficiency - trophies per attack or something.
