May sound stupid: WHat is farming?

I hear all this stuff about farming. I have a sort of idea what it is but please expand for me :) I am a noob so I Don't know what farming is.

What is farming? Farming is hunting for resources, but that also comes with a farmer base. A farmer base usually pushes the townhall outside and concentrates on mainly resources.

farming is what farmers do for a living. Including planting and harvesting crops, feeding animals, etc.
