Witches they are really that effective?

I just think that 12 house space is a bit high let me explain

usually people use 2 witches is almost 25 troops so:

1-pekka lvl3 (300DPS/3500HP) (just 1 more House Space)
2-3 valks (669DPS/3600hp) (same house space)
3-6 wizzards (1020dps/624HP) (same house space)
4-5 baloons (810dps/2705hp) (just 1 more house space)
5-5 hogs lvl5 (525dps/2375hp) (just 1 more house space)

2 Witches lvl2 (200hp) (60dps) (16 skeletons can reach all together 400dps and 720hit points) (total=460dps max)

I know that isn't that simple but what you guys think?

When you put a shield in front of them they are great, ie a Golem..
The skeles run about and trigger bombs which will save your troops aswell..

12 is fine

Witches have the "utility" that no other troops can offer

The reason witches are so good is because of the skeletons. They trigger traps, they take all the hits so your golem/whatever other troops don't get hit. Imagine a single inferno, the skeletons are gonna be the closest troop to it every single time, it will constantly target skeletons over and over because they respawn. Your golem just chills and stays alive, allowing your wizards and heroes to wreck the base.

The witch uses 11 spaces. Larry is the 12th space.

When the witches are not mown down, the waves of Larrys are wonderful. So worth the space. Unless you don't protect them.

why does it matter

Golems are great for sucking up the major damage but there are always spaces in between where wizards still can be hit. Some skeletons really help keeping the single point defenses busy and your wizards alive.

Also with golems and wizards you reach a point where it makes not much sense adding additional golems or wizards or wall breakers. So you add some pekkas or witches.

Also witches are good for cleaning up remaining buildings for a 3 star.
Another idea is addings them if the enemy has sinle target infernos because they are the only tanking units that can really keep them busy. Giants also work but giants require luring out the cc. Also if you lure them out and it is some ground troops you can use the same witches for killing them as for attacking. If you lure with archers they will get killed afterwards or you waste 5 wizards. Witches are the only units that dont die from killing cc troops.

There are times I use them and they felt like a complete waste. That is usually when their shield goes in the wrong direction (or they do) or the shield goes down too fast. I hate it when they bunch up on the shield as well and are taken out by splash damage.

However, when they work right, they feel like the best troops in the game. They trigger traps, the skeletons can be a great sacrifice at key times and I've had a pair of witches deliver that third star after all other troops have fallen.

Witches are very much worth it. They are suseptable to mortars or giant bombs but other than that they kick ♥♥♥. The skeletons are pretty much unstoppable in large numbers and combined with golems and wizards make the most powerful army in the game. If you think they suck then you're using them incorrectly.

The 12 housing space is just fine.
