The higher levels that think its fine to be able to chat with everyone at all levels (I saw some in the comments) will be free to drift down. The idea is that the higher guys can have a place to get some peace from the join requests if al they wanted was a little conversation.

I know that sounds elitist but the join requests do flow all one way. There are not a lot of higher level folks screaming join join join at the lower levels.

Agreed punk/brat behavior can happen at all levels, but I do think it is far more prevalent in the lower ones.

A toggle to turn off invites to your mailbox wouldn't hurt either.

I agree.Higher levels should be able to chat with the lower level groups if they desire to do so.

I think supercell invented the global chat system for beginners to ask experienced players for advice and what you should do in upgrading or in creating clans or joining clans.

Yes but some of us want to just chat with others around our level and be freed from the questions and recruiting comments. Players will still have to option to chat with lower levels if they want.

Agreed. Every 15 levels is too narrow. Every 25 or 30 would be much better.

I think you are absolutely right, and it was a wonderful thought I agree. And if that was how it had turned out to work in real life this conversation would probably not be happening.

But any game related discussions they have with higher players is how that player should leave an elite clan to join their little level 30 clan because 'we would be great together'. Or many just shorten it down to 'join' and say that word 200 times.

I was there the other day and a guy (actually a th9 crystal) was indeed trying to ask me for pointers for fine tuning his base and there were several others saying to both of us "<coc name> join" over and over each trying to top the other to be the last one saying it, which meant they were coming as fast as several guys could type. So the base conversation was impossible anyhow because anything either of us said to the other scrolled off to quickly. And its too hard to keep up with muting everyone as the participants keep changing.

As far as helping the lower levels, yes I was a successful TH6 a long time ago. But it has been so long since then I have lost touch with what it was like and how to balance things, so I am no longer a good reference. Being a high level does not make me smarter than someone who's not. Just different.

even the questions would not be that bad (but see my comment above ab0out not being as smart as they think I am) but those are only a few. The attempts to recruit me are over the top and drown out all else when I go in global.

True, I don't mind talking with someone who genuinely wants advice its the non stop join messages that is annoying.
