Why the loot is dry, isn't it obvious?

So many "WHERE'S THE LOOT?" threads. Simple explanation. Boosted barracks/royals. Not only are all the normal clashers hitting bases, but you have the additional people that have more free time around the holidays i.e. students. All of which would make for tough competition when searching for high loot attacks, but then you add boosted barracks, and now everyone is attacking four times as much.

Not to mention, even with 5 free builders, all lvl 12 collectors would not be finished, so you can't even boost all elixir pumps (unless gems). Also, no boost for gold, which generally fills up a little faster due to needing lix for your army, puts a damper on the situation.

So with 4x the frequency of attacks, additional clashers, and pumps that are out of commission it's no wonder loot seems a little worse than normal.

After the holidays, as many many many others have said, we should see some change. Hopefully.

Yes and No.

No because most people complaining about loot or in reality complaining about absence of dead bases, but don't tell it this way.

No also because those people who don't play a lot usually and are back for the holiday period probably had all of their builders sleeping, so the loot they manage to raid is immediately dropped back in whatever they need to upgrade, not kept in storages.

7 pumps, 5 builders, over 10 days since patch...

True, if you had the forethought to only upgrade the elixir pumps. But I would imagine most people upgraded both mines collectors at the same time.

After every update, most of the inactive players become active and loot dries a bit. But, in the middle we keep getting some good loots too, no doubt! :)

Loot is gone. Spent 200k nexting and could not find a single good raid. I settled on a 70k raid where I spent 50k on troops and 200k nexting...

No the boost is fine, if you don't like it, don't use it.

Thats the problem with people complaining about the boost. They're not using it effectively. Don't complain if you're training BARCH and can't find a base without nexting for 10 minutes.

Attack storages, not collectors. You will see a difference.

The boost was very profitable for me. I can hold about 4 million of each gold and elixir, and I was able to almost cap twice in 2 hours. I think a made about 6 mil, I am sure I was about half full when I started.

The game is almost unplayable right now. Spent over 200k nexting and settled for a pathetic raid in C2. I feel like the whole boost is a joke.

The biggest issue right now is the economy and not being able to find a good raid. And with the wall change Elixir is now a lot more common on TH8. So what do they do??? They freaking boost Elixir and Troops! The two things most out of balance already and they freaking boost them?????????????????

What a joke! Its like the dev team got drunk and was like "You know what would be funny as heck??? Lets boost Elixir and Troops while nobody can find a decent raid or spend their elixir!!!"

Exactly... And I'm telling this as a usual barcher. The boost is impacting the economy, so I adapt my army and gameplay to the boost. I'll come back to barch when the situation comes back to normal (so probably post holidays).

If you raid storages instead of collectors you can get good loot.

Haven't had a problem with weak troops.

My troops still aren't all upgraded for my th level and their getting me 300k gold and elixir.

At my th level and one above it raids.

I like fresh th8s.

Its not the boost that is reducing loot, its the Xmas holidays.

To be fair loot has been dry for a while...

The update completely screwed the economy in this game. Now it's nearly impossible to find any gold because everyone instantly spends it on walls. This is pissing me off now because the game is a hard enough grind fest without having to wait even longer to HOPEFULLY find some decent loot. I'm on the verge of quitting and another ♥♥ money grab update is gonna make me stop.

The boost is nice, but I kinda think it would be better to only allow one 1 gem boost once every 24 hours or once every 12 hours... when I boosted, in the first hour troops didn't matter when the bases shown are all in the range of 20k-60k in elixir, even hitting storages would be a loss. I'm TH 9, I boosted in what had been great loot in the 1800 - 1860 gold1 trophy range. Luckily for me, the loot improved in the last 40, 50 minutes to have made the cheap boosting worthwhile. But man, that first hour was bleak, nearly just stopped out of frustration.

Yeah the holidays are definitely a large factor in it. But there's more. Ever since the Elixir wall update there has been a dramatic increase in popularity with... Certain third party applications to say the least.

Just a thought :confused:

Unrelated but perhaps helpful. There's a ton of competition out there right now, human or otherwise. Figure out which trophy range the majority of them are in and either nuke or push cups into a less populated trophy range.

crappy loot...i only boost my elixir pumps and raid for 50% with barch. i dropped from 2800+ to 2600ish and couldnt find a base worth attacking. 99/100 had 150k total avalible or less.

Can someone tell me where these so called storage raids are. All I see are premmie bases offering a max of 60k, or almost max TH10's

Most in my clan are finding absolutely nothing in collectors or storages. Holidays just started, people are generally too busy for war so a good time to farm, until you realise there is no loot out there at all.

And at th10 how am I supposed to make a profit when raiding for elixir? Storage raids require a fair bit of elixir spending to get an army and spells good enough to get it. I cant go raiding th8s in gold 3 anymore. The only bases with any decent loot are well defended th10s and they generally have around 250k elixir available and to get half of it would cost me around 300k in troop and spells cost.

One more thing, what is the point in boosting barracks when spells take 4 times as long as it does to build a decent army? Even when boosted.

This boost is perfect for trophy pushing - I'm a mid TH9 around crystal 1 right now and am doing just fine with loot, mainly due to the higher league bonuses.

The loot will be just fine after the holidays - why don't you give pushing a shot?

I would hazard a guess and say the problem is the player, not the game.

As for the aggressive part, was it me being aggressive making a thread about how to overcome loot problems ( check sig ).

I was so happy about the christmas update after they changed elixir for walls back and introduced lvl7 giants and that I had 5 days for farming this week but at the moment I am really ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It was clear from the beginning that this barracks boost was a catastrophy. There is no fun at all in playing at the moment. I even bought 1200 new gems for christmas 2 days ago. What was Supercell thinking with this stupid boost? I think they have no idea about the economy in their own game.

It looks like I have to look for another game to play in the next week and hope this will not be a 2 week boost.
What was Supercell thinking with these boost? Everbody that boosted for the first time will never do it again . At least I can do some gold mines to not let my builders sleep.

@victort: Lol I was doing storage raids in crystal 3 about 10 minutes ago. Well I found some with OK loot but nexting is really boring. Nexting 100 times to find a raid where you can get 100K each with th9 troops (giants + wall breakers + archers + heroes) is simply awful and no I dont suck at attacking. Ther are simply no bases with loot except some th10s which had about 300K combined in 4 storages around the infernos.

In stead of complaining why do you boost and go play. I boosted for a hour last night and made 1.5 million gold, 1 million elixir at TH9.

Those are absolutely atrocious numbers for boosting barracks ... just saying. If I'm committing an hour to a game straight I personally need more reward than that.

Loot for me has just been alright, not bad and not good. But the problem with the boost is that if you want to play, you have to play constantly and not turn off the game. I tried playing yesterday morning and when I got off so my troops could train, and because I was doing other things, I would get destroyed (i am a new th 9, and I get destroyed by great th 9 or 10's). The loot wasn't good enough to be getting beat everytime I logged off. After the 5th time of this happening I decided to keep the shield, and the morning of attacks was wasted.

So to sum it up, I dislike the boosts because you have to be on constantly to attack, otherwise you will get attacked. So I will see you guys in a couple weeks.

1.) I love boosting and am also willing to pay for it. It is also OK if ressource output is lower because raiding is fun but spending 2 hours nexting is just boring and I will refuse to do this. It is a game that should be fun and at the moment it is not.

2.) Loot was fine a day before the boost. Raiding was really much fun so dont tell me it is my fault if I find this game boring.

Oh I'm not saying I'm doing better haha. I'm saying if I play boosted I would want more than that since it's pretty much an hour straight of my time. I measure value in the sense of my time as opposed to gems.

I am finding nice loot in crystal 1 and masters 3 as a townhall 10 using giant-barch to hit storages. The generous league bonus also helps. Try up here :D

Loot is a bit more dry then it was post update/pre-boost but you can find it just hit next a bit more. I think the Barchers are shielding all the good storages cause most of them that hit me don't realize its in the storages and not the collectors. I'm surprised SC boosted elixer first cause a lot haven't maxed levels yet but I think gold may be boosted tonight (US time).
This thread is quite redundant and it seems the people that could be helpful are instead being rude and snickity.

I frequent these forums because I love the game and everything about it! But all I ever hear about is people complaining about Loot, Updates, Troops, Clan Match ups!

Really is it that bad?? I've been playing since February, in the same clan since April and myself and my clanmates have been FINE! So at times Loot may be tough to come by as in every next you're not getting 250k of each. All day I see replays in my clan of awesome raids.

As a TH9 this update didn't blow me away but whatever. This game is a grind, not something that is just handed to you. Either play and enjoy or go find some other app that is easy for you!

dont waste any of your gems on barrack boosts only use it for boosting the elixir pumps.

those ♥♥♥♥ing japs who bought over this game are ripping us. come on before this gem auction we could find inactive abonded bases and atleast 180 k of available loot. been to all cup ranges no where loot to be found and before this 1 gem scam auction we could atleast find some loot within 100 searches and now 200 searches still no loot tobe found coc devs are ♥♥♥♥ scammers!!!

and the sheeps and cows that blame the reason that everyone is raiding i say bull♥♥♥♥. just wait till this auction is over and still arent able to find some loot keep feeding your scammer! idiots

I did all my collectors first :). On topic loot is always terrible when there is a cheap attack boost on. It's just common sense. 4 times the attacks going on with the same amount of loot (well at very most a little more elixir).

It's not about entitlement either people just want to play a game and enjoy it. No loot means less enjoyment. Effort - reward ratio. It gets too low people stop playing, it becomes unprofitable and the servers are shut down.

dont boost anythung else since there is no loot avsilable this isnall set up. even the abonded bases have disapeared still some people give reason that everyone is raiding now! once this auction is over it will go like this. have a nice 2015 stuggling for loot ;)

That only applies to TH 10 since all levels below that had enough time to max out their collectors/mines. I don't know what TH you are at but as a TH9 I am getting plenty of loot from TH8's and TH9's in Gold.

By the way, I think it is kinda funny that some people here claim that the economy is obviously broken based on some made up economic models they just made up.

Well, the fact that plenty of people (myself included) find plenty of loot easily disproves all those economic models that the thread creator and others here presented as obvious reasons why they are having a difficult time.

Time to go back to the drawing board and come up with a better economic model that actually corresponds to what people are experiencing? Either that, or you could simply boost your barracks/heroes and go barching for easy loot in Gold 1-3. The choice is yours but please don't complain about not finding any loot when you obviously haven't really tried the different available options.

Find them rather than coming here to complain that people are taking advantage of the boost. Do the same and boost for bigger armies and climb up for bigger badder bases with more loot.
3) Effort:Reward ratio, little effort from barching, high rewards= boring as all hell. There is also an entertainment factor in watching 100% destruction rather than scraping out a 50%.

Ha ha I'm in no rush my base is maxed. Just pottering along doing lvl10 walls. The amount of loot dosent change much, what changes is the number of active players raiding for it. right now there are going on 4 times as many raids as normal. Believe in your conspiracy theory if you want.

I have nothing to build until my TH9 is done other than the pumps so I'm using it as an opportunity to trophy push. Never went to crystal so giving it a shot just to say I did.

to the people that blame the holliday for this to happen... let me show you a logic point of view in sheep or cow language:
this started happening on monday
what about friday, saturday abd sunday, so everyone started raiding on monday and appearantly the inactive bases and loot has been disappeared? check your tinfoil hats ;)

Loot is a bit more dry then it was post update/pre-boost but you can find it just hit next a bit more. I think the Barchers are shielding all the good storages cause most of them that hit me don't realize its in the storages and not the collectors. I'm surprised SC boosted elixer first cause a lot haven't maxed levels yet but I think gold may be boosted tonight (US time).

The economy is broken not because there is too less loot, but because it varies too much depending on Holidays, updates, maintenance breaks and so on. Ressource Output is fine most of the time.

Well this always depends on what you define as good loot. If you are glad with 100 nexts per attack than it my be OK for you, but I dont want to next 100 times for a simple storage raid with 100K each in Crystal 3. I do not care if I make many ressources. It is simply boring and the target should be not to maximize ressource Output, but to make the game funny. 2 days ago I boosted twice and had really much fun.

The economic model should not be so hard to understand. If everybody gets a 12 hour shield for every attack, he can be attacked about twice a day. If everyone boosts his barracks now (4 times the Speed) and does not go offline between the raids, then there will be too few Targets, because the Targets can not magically appear, so all good bases are taken and the worst stay in the Queue and are presented to everyone. You can see this after every update or if you go up in trophies where Players attack more often. This is not a theory somebody has made up, but a fact that most of the Players here know.

Barching will only work if there are inactive bases which are the first ones that disappear during bad loot days while storage loot + league Bonus is a more constant combination.
Also I dont know why I should Change my trophy Level if it has worked the last 3 months here and will work again in 1 week after the boost has finished. There is no use in trying other trophy Levels if I have to go back after a few days, if the loot System works like before.

3 stars and no gold to improve my own village is not a rewarding experience. We have war for that.

Loot will get better then it was post update/pre boost once either or and the mines get boosted, level 12s completed, and or barracks boost ends.
Now, tell me about the pyramids and the space gods.....and sheep and cows and horses, Ohh and do Aluminum foil hats work as well as Tinfoil?

Agree, it is going to be a bit lean at the moment; but will improve.

Right now you have no choice but to boost to make half decent loot - and even then you will not make as much as you would during typical paid boost periods.

its was dry yesterday, but absolutely excellent today. Found a col base this morning without nexting :cool:. Sitting on top of full lix.

I feel really happy for you, but i'm scare it's just a lucky one.
I'm playing this morning since i woke up (nearly 3 hours) and
i found nothing really "full", the game is really dry.
