I have had a few times where there were so many storages so close together that a single spell gave me more than 22k elixir plus some gold and maybe even DE. In that case it is profitable to just zap away.
The most recent time this happened was about a week ago when a person had his DE storage in the middle of the base with all 4 of his full elixir storages surrounding it. I had no interested in zapping his DE, but by targeting the DE storage directly I got 300 DE and 50,000 elixir per spell used. Naturally I went nuts with my spells.
I got the opposite as a th9, becuase the upgrades take so long, im sat on over 7mil gold, down to 2 mil elixir (just started balloon upgrade) and 60k deQuote:

Someone dropped a zap on my gold yesterday after sniping.....they got little. Better than zapping my dark, I guess.....
When I was TH9 farming in Gold leagues sometimes I had people zap my elixir…never made sense.
At best they recoup the cost of the spell…LOL
