I upgraded rage from 1-4 as soon as I unlocked it.
It was so worth it.
Level 1 Rage is 30k. Level 5 is 44k. 14k difference.
The Level 5 spell has 180% damage compared to 130% for Level 1 and the time it lasts is incredibly longer.
It's not something you use all the time for farming. It's just not profitable to use on every raid and only certain base designs require it's use. Goblin rushes once a core of a base that has all it's resources in the centre can be destroyed by splash damage quickly so I find a longer Rage spell with a much higher damage % is more useful in those rare times you use it because you have time to send the goblins in waves and you'll always grab everything.
What's 14k Gold at the end of the day if you only use it once in awhile? I think the choice is simple...

10 Lv5 goblins + Lv1 Rage VS Lv8 Black walls
VS
10 Lv5 Goblins + Lv5 Rage VS Lv8 Black walls
I'm pretty sure the difference is big, considering dmg is boost from 130% to 180%
I was devating upgrading it to level 4 so I ended up doing it and I'm going to keep it there

Depends on how you use it.
If you use it just about every battle I can see a point in keeping it at level 1, allthough if you need it every other battle you are either fighting high trophies - in which case you should upgrade it - or doing something wrong.
If you use it "once in a while" on hard bases you should upgrade it. I fail to see any point in saving 15k-ish gold 3-4 times a day when a higher level rage spell is more effective. And if you are like me, who use it once every blue moon, you should definately upgrade it, because when you need it you want things to go "BOOOM"...
That's my opinion anyway.
Well thought out reply. I tend to agree with you. I upgraded my rage spell because I had nothing else useful to upgrade, and it seems to really begin to pay. A great increase in efficiency for 14k is good for farming and hunting. Segmented storages will be mowed down faster.Quote:

I skimmed through the reponses so i hoped am not saying what anyone else said.
i use L5 rage because it rocks for farming. when people put wiz towers near storages, goblins can clean them out usually before the wiz's second strike.
Also, I consider think of the cost as an average per battle. If i can get by with only using it once every 5-10 attacks then the average is 8,800-4,400 per battle. Relatively cheap as it is not needed every time.
That being said, i won't use it as a last ditch effort to grab anything less than its cost or because of rebuild time. Im not afraid to fail and not get what I was aiming for if i can save troops and a spell for the next attack.
