I am a TH9 in Masters with around 65K DE. I give you permission to zap me IF you snipe my TH and do a full out attack on my base first. I am testing my newest farming design :p

My shield stays overnight and its gone all day...zzzzaaapp
What I do is I get a respectable amount of de, then drop to silver 3 and gain slowly. Just got the final 7k de for bk9 this way :p
Just bought a one week shield for multiple reasons.
Logic:
- Minion LVL 5 upgrade finishes in about a week for me
- Currently farming in Silver 1 with 5 million Eilxer.
- I plan to upgrade another unit to level 6 once gaining another 1 million elixer.
- To upgrade that one unit, I'd have to wait another week because of that minion upgrade. (I have to conserve 6 million for a while)
Non-Logic:
- I had already boosted my barracks for 2 hours with the same boost
- Boosting of the barracks occurred after I had left a war clan (broco-leet) to farm in the farm clan (broco-lee)
- Forgot to check trophy level of farm (and war) clan. This was at 1500 and 1100, respectively.
- I gained 600 trophies after dropping the previous day to a 700 trophy level.
- Re-joined the war clan I never should have left.
- Realized how stupid I was to think I could farm in the loot deprived, chock-full-of-farmers-silver-one league.
- Bought a shield because I had just gained 600 trophies, didn't feel like dropping 700
So, yeah, I bought a 250 gem shield. (Keep in mind I naturally had the gems to do this. I have never made a purchase in this game)
By the way, I can count on getting these gems in about a month. (Explanation found here)
gpw=gems per week
gb=gem box gems
g=gems
w=weeks
44 gpw+25gb = 67g
(67g)4w= 268g
Shield is worth 250 gems.
I think this will pay off in the long run, as you can see by this unnecessarily long explanation.
Supercell,
I'm typically not one to post to gaming forums, but I felt compelled as this thread is posted more towards the Supercell Developer forum regarding Dark Elixer Lightning Raiders. I've been playing Clash for quite a while now and am overall very happy with the way the game play and balance of the game is designed. I can agree with the loot bonus of a higher TH hitting down on a lower and not being allowed the same amount of resources gained from a lower TH attack. That part, I get!
However, where I have an issue is the lower TH's hitting your DE storages with a lightning attack and gaining what at times becomes a large amount of resources in DE gained! I've tried to save DE and on more than one occasion lost more in three lighting attacks than I've gained in the past 24 hours. I would like to see the amount of loot decreased on DE storages when hit with lightning attacks.
Ok, I've said my piece and I know all the kids, haters, and otherwise trolling individuals will have something to say about my post, so I get it. Hate on as I know you will and do. The world needs all types including your type. And before you start bashing me as well saying "OMG, Supercell does it on purpose because they want you to purchase Gems... I know this people. I just wish I would have gotten in on the ground floor and been part of an organization that makes $700K on a daily basis, wouldn't you? So, yes I am part of the individuals who purchase gems on occasion, but I know my spending limits and have fun with the game.
As a side note, give the freeze spell to a TH9 as well. It's not quite fair for a TH10 to hit down and use freeze spells on my defensive structures, and I have not recourse to combat inferno towers with anything other than a freeze spell. I can't even revenge properly!
So, I've said my piece Supercell Developers. Great game that I love to play with my son, but some of the resources are quite ridiculous.
Clash on all......
Sincerely,

Just gonna say this now, I am a Zapper and always will be a zapper. The mechanics behind the lit spell and looting from storages are sound. Meaning that you have a problem with either the ethics and morals of the attacker or the game itself. Ethics and Morals in a mobile game should totally be discounted, I take what i want, how i want, with the most effective way possible. That just means i put an X on my back for someone to hit me back for what i just stole.
Another note about the freeze spell. Its the same thing with L6 giants and the AQ before the update. Th8s used to get stomped out by th9s with an AQ and l6 giants packed with wizzes and heal spells. There was (and still is) no real way to defend against them other than ultra-pro funneling and spring traps with impeccable spring trap placement. Then the DE sniper ,the trusty AQ stays out of our Defenses range while she shoots down defenses and storages. Its the food chain, th10 takes down th9s, 9s flatten 8s and so on.
Its just another part of the game.
I will disregard the part about lightening spells,because frankly I don't think anything needs to be said on that.
However, I cannot comprehend why you think it should be "fair" for you to get a spell to attack th 10's. It should always be harder to attack someone who is a higher level than you because they have earned the right to have stronger and different ways of attacking. A th 9 can take out a th 10, so stop complaining and just do a little research/stratagizing and you can revenge properly.
I've never heard of this suggestion before. Interesting ideas...
This is probably very wise. I was actually disappointed when I saw there was a one gem boost for barracks because I knew that would mean it would be that much harder to find good bases to raid because of all the competition. Now is a good time to take a break from the game. The spell factory boost can be annoying (though only if you are in a low league or keep your town hall in), but the barrack boost is going to make raiding boring.
