TH8 'Elixir Dump' Attack Strategies?

With the latest update, active players in TH8 generally have more Elixir than they know what to do with. Since there is no structure dump for the Elixir, I'm wondering if there's a way to productively put it towards armies instead.

When I'm farming I typically just use Barch, but while that is fast and effective against weak bases it's very cheap. The question is: can we come up with an army composition that is stronger than Barch, but trains relatively quickly (even if we have to boost one or two barracks) if we aren't worried about the Elixir cost and, in fact, want to dump Elixir to a degree?

I'd love to be able to use Dragons more, but they take so long to build and I find them difficult to use against many TH8+ bases...

giant healer is realtivly cheap and fast only 45 mins no boost, 10 mins on boost.

The point though is I don't want it to be cheap; I want it to be relatively expensive. If I want cheap I can just barch. I just made 3mil/2.8mil in a 2 hour session boosting one barracks and my level 5 BK using barch.

The trouble is I don't want to be hanging on to so much Elixir around after I dump all of the Gold into walls. It just makes my base more attractive to raid even if my Gold / DE levels are relatively low.

I have considered starting a level 10 Barracks upgrade, then cancelling it, as a means of dumping elixir. Obviously, if all your elixir building upgrades are complete, that's not an option.

Ah, not a bad idea.

Also I'm thinking of training 12 dragons every time I plan to log off for more than 1.5 hours. Could even just give them all away in clan donations, better than throwing it away certainly.

definitely dont just waste it, use it for donations! Or you could just leave it outside your base near an exposed TH ( if you have dumped all other resourced, you probably wont get stomped)

But donations take time to make too. Ultimately the problem is that having extra Elixir is simply taking away from being able to farm and keep Gold and DE that you need. Putting the storages outside is kind of iffy if you have 1-2m Gold and 20k+ DE in addition to your 6m Elixir, the Elixir just makes it that much more tempting for a TH9 to come stomp you regardless of where it is.

I've had the same, and am building overnight armies to practise cw attacks. And the same if im offline any length of time.

That's the whole point of dumping resources.....

Just space your drag attacks out. I queue up dragons before I go to bed. I wake up and I do a practice CW attack essentially everyday.

I guess it also helps that I'm in a 24/7 warring clan, but yeah. I'm sure there are times during the day you need to be at work/school/whatever. Queue up dragons once again. Having dragons twice a day should be more than enough to satisfy the overflow.
