Clan Wars List of Wanted Features: Opt Out; Donation Stats; Heroes in
There are a number of features that are repeatedly requested as improving the balance and gameplay of wars. Part of the reason is that war is brilliant - it allows mid level farmers to develop high level attack strategies in a teamplay cooperative environment that brings a clan together. But there are a number of features that just get in the way.
1. Opt Out: Some days players simply can't war, or because of their low trophies they arbitrarily miss out. There needs to be an opt in / opt out feature for war, so that someone who can't war for a few days does not have to either massively drop in trophies to the bottom of the clan or leave entirely for a few days. The social effect is isolating on that player, and it has no other effect on gameplay. This could be entirely individual player based, or leaders/coleaders could have an override to omit a player from the war.
2. Donation stats: There's no easy way of doing this, and I do agree that donations to war CC should not be counted towards other donations (or XP). That said, bigger players in clan with higher level troops spend the most on war and gain nothing - even notionally recognition - for that effort. Donation stats make it easier (although not obvious) to see who is donating rubbish to the war cc as a troll move.
3. Heroes in War (while upgrading): Sure Supercell wants to get us to use gems, but well.. like many people I can't afford to gem the time for heroes to upgrade. I have to work at them slowly over time, and to avoid letting down my clan I have to leave the clan for war - I don't have the skill to constantly war with just one hero. So that's the social isolation all over again.
Three possible solutions:
3.1: Just make heroes available on war raids.
3.2: Put hero upgrades in the lab
3.3: Create an "armourer" who upgrades heroes. Could add fancy hats and rubbish as well.
4. Better Matchmaking: Currently the game is based on iterations of worse and worse matches. Mismatches can become optional by allowing leaders to have a choice whether to prioritise a better match or a faster match.
Anyway, comment away.
