[Debate] Max walls at TH7?

Hello,


I'm just curious to see what different people's opinions are on maxing walls at TH7 before moving on to TH8.


Buildings that are maxed:
Cannons
Archer Towers
Wizard Towers
Mortars
Air Defenses
Teslas
Gold Storages
Elixir Storages


Buildings that aren't maxed:
3/4 Army Camps
Clan Castle
Elixir Collectors
Gold Mines
168/175 walls
3/4 Barracks*


*I will not be maxing these, just upgrading them enough until when I press and hold to train, when I let up, it will stop dead on my troop limit :)


Anyway, this should give you a rough idea of how far I am from maxing TH7. All of this just to get everyone's opinions on whether or not to max those 168 walls (33,600,000 gold!) while I'm still at TH7.

I would advise staying at Th 7 for now. Get the army camp and clan castle done ASAP and keep working on the mines as well. Personally, I would stay at TH 7 until A) everything you want to be maxxed is maxxed (ex. you are content with barracks), or B) You either have sleeping builders or no walls left to dump gold in.

Max them all! I'm new to TH8 and pretty much people gives people the creeps with all those purple walls!

Max EVERYTHING before upgrading your town hall.

I will be at TH8 in about four hours, and it's comforting to know that I won't be trying to upgrade old stuff, while also going up against the loot penalty.

And in case it wasn't clear when I said "everything," yes, that means walls too.

I moved up to TH8 a few days back and would say the loot is very good at TH8, even with newly promoted lvl 4 troops.

Within a couple of days play I've got all 50 new walls up to purple and even 2 new black ones!

The question is, if you haven't found time to farm the purple walls while upgrading TH7 are you really going to be able too at TH8?

By the way, in my opinion purple walls look a lot scarier. I skip far more purple walled bases than pink walled bases and that's even before I've seen what levels the defences are.

I'm glad I've maxed all my barracks. At the moment i'm basically stuck with elixir coming out of my ears. So overnight I train 12 dragons, use 9 on raids and give out a few. It gives you one hell of an advantage during your first battle of the day.

I am currently at TH7 and do not plan on moving on until I have maxed out walls...yeah it's slow and expensive, but it will be well worth it when you reach TH8....one less thing to worry about upgrading...and one less thing to worry about defence wise.
Also the army camp was one of the first thing I maxed...extra troops for attacking with is an advantage.

Your clan castle is a great asset to defences (as well as offence) and it means you didn't max it at TH6 either as you cannot upgrade it to lvl4 until TH8... So technically you shouldn't have to upgrade clan castle at TH7 at all.

Probably will do mines and collectors too while I'm here...just a couple more levels for each one - extra resources always a bonus at higher levels.

Max everything dude.

I value defenses over camps. Having more troops allows you to gain resources faster, true, but I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere, so I save it for last. :)

In my clan, I give more than I receive - which is why my Clan Castle is still level 2 :)

I don't get your point with saving the camp for the last :confused:

Bigger clan castle means more dps, I personally put clan castle in a same priority as splash defenses.

Max out every little thing, or suffer.

No debate. Get the walls. And everything else.

only those who are incompetent at farming will say no need to max wall, cos they are taking forever to farm the resources. agree.

I would definitely suggest to max Army Camps and Clan Castle.
Walls should be maxed during the above process.

Mines and Collectors are low priority. I did all of them to only level 7 when I was upgrading to TH8.

Barracks are special to me. I normally did it while I was on vacation or during the week that I plan to be busy with something else regardless of Town Hall level.

I upgraded everything except barrack and mines/collectors at the and it has served me well

Army camps should of been done ages ago. Clan castle should of been done last th I think. Walls are pretty easy to do if you think about it. Mines and collectors are a good investment.

Army camps, clan castle and troop upgrades should be top priority along with splash defenses.

All in all, it is not necessary to max strictly EVERYTHING, just the stuff that counts. You don't need to upgrade all your Barracks, mines and collectors.

All your walls should be lvl6 (pink) with as many lvl7 (purple) as possible, but I don't think it is necessary to max them all if you have everything else that counts at maximum. The outer walls are mostly attacked by wall breakers and for them there is no difference between lvl 6 and 7. Of course, loot is easier to come by on TH7; so if you have the patience, max as much as you feel like.. You might save some time in the long run.

When I upgraded to TH8 two weeks ago, I had 100 pink walls left (75 were purple) and 3 Barracks at lvl8 (1 at 9) where they will probably stay even until TH9. I had maxed out all troop upgrades (except Balloons, which I never use and never will.. So they can remain at 3 until I've upgraded everything else to 5). I didn't upgrade DE troop and left the BK at lvl1 to keep the regeneration time short.

I got bored after I had finished all troop and spell upgrades I wanted and had run out of things to do for my workers. I upgraded my gold mines to lvl11 and Elixir collectors to lvl8 while waiting for the TH upgrade to finish just to keep my workers busy.. but maxing them is not really necessary IMO; it's completely fine to upgrade to TH8 with lvl 7-8 mines and collectors if you play a lot and log on at least once every day. There should be more than enough time to max the towards the end of TH8.

I am not going to townhall level eight until Every single wall is upgraded.

Always max walls. I just got th 8 and the loot can definitely be slower. And you wanna be able to focus on skull walls when you get th 8

I maxed out walls, CC, and army camps, and they have brought me heaven at TH 8. Really helpful, and you aren't much behind except the new walls.

I would recommend, as at TH 8, you can't really upgrade your buildings, but you must buy the new ones instead.

But I'll repeat myself again anyway. My point with saving camps for last is because I'm in no hurry, so I don't mind playing with less troops.
I didn't do the clan castle because I donate more troops than I request.

I don't understand this. If you are not in a hurry, why do you want to upgrade to TH8 without maxing TH7?

And BTW I'm TH7 and have everything but one barrack, resources, around 20 walls, piggyriders and BK maxed. And the only think I'll save for laters is BK, since I'm not sure if I want longer regenerate period.

As Zack said, as long as you still have buildings you want to upgrade sticking it out a TH7 will help you out, it sounds to me like you have upgraded most of your building that require large amount of gold so you should be having a bit lying around over the next few weeks, upgrade the walls you can, but if you get to a point where you either have nothing for your builders to do or you can't spend your gold on anything, it's time to move on.

Do some sums, how long to upgrade all the buildings you want to upgrade, how much gold do you need to get before that's done, if you think you can try farm that amount of gold or more in that time... if you can't well some purple walls are better than no purple walls...

Hi, I think there is another 2 important buildings under your list that are not maxed out yet. 1 is the Army camps. Why? Because upgraded army camps can hold more troops = Can deploy more troops to farm. 2 is your CC, again this is because of more troops that you can deploy into the field.

The rest is up to you to max or not. Hope it helps OP. :)

I've noticed less serious attacks since I got all purple walls. They're really not even that hard to get.

OP, you don't have to max walls but it is highly recommended. Oh, and are your teslas lv3?

Smart one here too Pinser! Definitely get your Teslas to L3 before heading to TH 8. They saved me from lots of Pekka attacks ;)
