Limit number of successive attacks within a given time frame

I have been playing this game for only 8-9 months. I now have a lvl8 town hall and have been attempting to save the 15000 in dark elixir to upgrade my Barb King to level 3. I can never get enough due to constant attacks. Guys will attack, steal 600-900 in de and leave. 15 minutes later the same thing happens. 5 minutes after that, it happens again. I don't get hit hard enough to generate a shield. I just keep getting hit for loot and then left alone w/o any shield to protect me from immediate attack. I constantly loose thousands in de this way. 4, 5 or 6 successive attacks and no shield leaves me wondering why I play this "game". Some in my clan suggested I leave my town hall out in the open to solicit easier wins for the attacker and thereby generate more shields... this hasn't helped. Some suggested I dump a bunch of trophies so that higher ranked players much stronger than me wouldn't find me and this hasn't helped either. There should be some kind of limit on the number of attacks you must suffer within a given time frame. It can take several days to recover the losses from multiple attacks like this only to have the same thing happen again. Dark elixir is just too difficult a commodity to regenerate.

If you could post a pic of your base we could help you there as well. You could try leaving your town hall outside to generate shields. Another thing is, I doubt your DE storage is in the middle of your base if people are getting to it without giving you a shield. Also, if everything else is maxed, just move on up to th 9. Im th 9 and no one tries to touch my base ever i just get constant th snipers giving me shields. Maybe im just lucky :D

I am also TH8 and I didn't have much of a problem saving up 40,000 DE for level 4 hogs.
I believe it's your base that is faulty. You shouldn't be getting raided consecutively. Leave your town hall at the edge of the map, and don't place any ridiculous traps like some people tend to do around it (Because that just annoys them, and makes them just zap you and leave you. I know this because I've experienced those noobs who do that...)

If you're experiencing this problem then it simply means that your layout is pretty weak or you have terrible luck, these are the kinds of things you experience in the game, you just have to learn from it. I experienced that for a short time at TH8 but now my TH9 base can go a full day without a shield while storing 50de and not get attacked.

My DE storage is in the very center. My TH is outside and totally undefended. I believe the problem is my bad luck in not having people who just want a win. I have attackers who are after a lot of resources... and a lot of them. They don't care about a win. It is just a part of the game... I know. But it seems that SC could limit the number of times one can get slaughtered in quick succession like I seem to suffer every day or two. If I can figure out how to get a pic of my base off my iPod I will post it here. Thanks to each of you for the advice you have posted.:):eek:

Just make sure you have all buffer buildings close to walls and de is in center. No matter how they attack. They shouldn't be able to get to storage without doing 40% damage. Its quite easy to get 40% damage before de is drained

Google how to take a screenshot with your ipod. now you have a jpeg pic of your base.

email the pic to yourself and save on your home computer.

come back to this thread and click 'Reply to thread'

click button for 'Insert Image'

click 'Basic Uploader' button.

browse and locate where you saved the pic of your base on your computer.

click 'Upload'

Post the message after the pic uploads to forum post.

Outside th means in the corner
Don't log off in between attacks

Don't put your TH behind anything..Just place it in the corner completely.
Also, I recommend looking for a proper base design online if you can't design bases yourself properly.

To be frankly speakin . That base is really bad. For example. You just need 4 WB to open up from top center. And with bk and barch anyone can easily get all your loot at around 30% damage. They would stop attack right away to save on bk regen time.

I will show you a base I modded a bit for my liking. The layout is from forum itself. Its really good. You can try and look for some yourself

ya its no wonder why you keep getting hit for de when the base is really easy. try searching for some good farming bases on this forum!!!

Fundamentally I see very little difference in what I have done and what you have done. All the same things are centered in the base. All the same things are along the outside edge. Except for the TH sitting more isolated and undefended, and not having some buildings out in the corners of the map.... they are the same. Some have even suggest putting buildings out at the corners of the map!
No amount of map changes will prevent what I was talking about. I am losing the de to lightning strikes to my de storage. Attackers infrequently attempt to run through to my storage via a ground attack. My complaint was about the frequent/successive attacks and not getting a shield because no one bothered to attack usually to win.

If I can't design bases myself "properly"??? Really????

If you are trying to just save loot farm down to the bronze area. Nobody takes it there.

Its not same though it might not be best. I was just showing an example. Your base layout is kind of grid or square which makes it easy to send WB right where they want. And bk will go right at storages. And cc is a big part too in defense. You need it to be in center such that its impossible to lure. There are Tesla at edges which has high rate of fire which takes care of wb.

Then there is wiz which takes care of barch and gobs and mortar covers whole base while not vulnerable. Most of attacks on my base goes really bad mainly because of cc taking out giants. I never got attacked by barch from past one month of using this. Every time at max I have lost 1/3 loot against th8 and 2/3 against th9. Most of times its a failed attack if they don't lure cc. I stay at gold3. So its not like I don't get hit often either.

Put your th on the outside look up base layouts for farmers

Watch your replays, then adjust your base... you upgrade troops, spells, defences etc, so you should upgrade your base as you progress... put your th in an unprotected corner for a start......


Your base is the problem - look on the base design section of the forum-lots of tips and advice is aviable there....

( Or have you been de zapping.... that is the only other possible reason, as revenge attackers will attack you for loot and leave before 40% on purpose)

Yes, really. That base is bad, and you need to face the facts. There are many superior farming bases online, use them. As everyone has previously suggested.

Put collectors in different compartments so they cant just crack 2 walls and get to everything.

That being said, he has a legit complaint. I have all my stuff inseperat compartments, and each storage is behind 2 layers of walls and a layer of defenses. But what happens is, when they can steal 300k from storage, players will just go after 2 of them and not get 40%, and that can happen several times. Also with dark you can get zapped 3-4 times in a night.

At least put your TH far away from the base - DO NOT PROTECT IT AT ALL!! You might as well put your TH in the middle, because right now you're not attractive to TH snipers.

I don't know if I'll ever understand why people put their TH on the outside but still in range of defenses. If you want a free shield, why are you still defending the TH? When I see a base like yours, I move on because I'll have to use too many troops to take the TH - you just lost a free shield and put yourself at risk of the next attacker taking more than I would have. Make it as easy as possible on the attacker and you'll see that every 12 hours you'll get a shield and people will rarely take more than the TH.

My other critique of your base is that you have all of your storages in one compartment and not protected by wizard towers. Ground troops such as barbs and gremlins congregate on storages which is where a wizard tower can excel at wiping out all of them in a couple of shots. Currently, an attack from the north west would take out the one wizard tower first, leaving all of your storages ripe for the picking. You have 3 of each storage and 3 wizard towers... coincidence? ;) Note the positioning of these structures in Deadlyxda's example base.

Another tip - keep one of your resources super low and you won't be attractive to looters. In other words, don't take a break from your own looting until you have enough to pay for a build that brings your gold or elixir down to zero.

I have upwards of 60-100k of DE in my storage on a regular basis, and I rarely get attacked much less for my DE. I can't even remember the last time I was Zapped much less zapped for any significant loss.

There is a significant difference in your base and the base presented. You made the biggest, fundamental mistake every beginner makes; All your storages are in the same, centralized compartment. Terrible.
