Limit number of successive attacks within a given time frame

I have been playing this game for only 8-9 months. I now have a lvl8 town hall and have been attempting to save the 15000 in dark elixir to upgrade my Barb King to level 3. I can never get enough due to constant attacks. Guys will attack, steal 600-900 in de and leave. 15 minutes later the same thing happens. 5 minutes after that, it happens again. I don't get hit hard enough to generate a shield. I just keep getting hit for loot and then left alone w/o any shield to protect me from immediate attack. I constantly loose thousands in de this way. 4, 5 or 6 successive attacks and no shield leaves me wondering why I play this "game". Some in my clan suggested I leave my town hall out in the open to solicit easier wins for the attacker and thereby generate more shields... this hasn't helped. Some suggested I dump a bunch of trophies so that higher ranked players much stronger than me wouldn't find me and this hasn't helped either. There should be some kind of limit on the number of attacks you must suffer within a given time frame. It can take several days to recover the losses from multiple attacks like this only to have the same thing happen again. Dark elixir is just too difficult a commodity to regenerate.

If you could post a pic of your base we could help you there as well. You could try leaving your town hall outside to generate shields. Another thing is, I doubt your DE storage is in the middle of your base if people are getting to it without giving you a shield. Also, if everything else is maxed, just move on up to th 9. Im th 9 and no one tries to touch my base ever i just get constant th snipers giving me shields. Maybe im just lucky :D

I am also TH8 and I didn't have much of a problem saving up 40,000 DE for level 4 hogs.
I believe it's your base that is faulty. You shouldn't be getting raided consecutively. Leave your town hall at the edge of the map, and don't place any ridiculous traps like some people tend to do around it (Because that just annoys them, and makes them just zap you and leave you. I know this because I've experienced those noobs who do that...)

If you're experiencing this problem then it simply means that your layout is pretty weak or you have terrible luck, these are the kinds of things you experience in the game, you just have to learn from it. I experienced that for a short time at TH8 but now my TH9 base can go a full day without a shield while storing 50de and not get attacked.

My DE storage is in the very center. My TH is outside and totally undefended. I believe the problem is my bad luck in not having people who just want a win. I have attackers who are after a lot of resources... and a lot of them. They don't care about a win. It is just a part of the game... I know. But it seems that SC could limit the number of times one can get slaughtered in quick succession like I seem to suffer every day or two. If I can figure out how to get a pic of my base off my iPod I will post it here. Thanks to each of you for the advice you have posted.:):eek:

Just make sure you have all buffer buildings close to walls and de is in center. No matter how they attack. They shouldn't be able to get to storage without doing 40% damage. Its quite easy to get 40% damage before de is drained

Google how to take a screenshot with your ipod. now you have a jpeg pic of your base.

email the pic to yourself and save on your home computer.

come back to this thread and click 'Reply to thread'

click button for 'Insert Image'

click 'Basic Uploader' button.

browse and locate where you saved the pic of your base on your computer.

click 'Upload'

Post the message after the pic uploads to forum post.

Outside th means in the corner
Don't log off in between attacks

Don't put your TH behind anything..Just place it in the corner completely.
Also, I recommend looking for a proper base design online if you can't design bases yourself properly.
