Th8 ---> th9

I battle with this all the time, but I want to go to TH9 so bad. Most of the upgrades (troops) I have left to do, I don't even use. For clan wars I use GoWiPe and Dragons, or balloonions. Other than that, I only use barch to farm. I would say I farm for atleast 1 maybe 2 sessions of boosting my barracks on any given day. When my barracks aren't boostin, I try to farm whenever my units are full and my phone/tablet notifies me. Below is a pic of my unit upgrades and my base, as you can see I have max level 8 walls and have since my first month of being TH8 because I did it first. I will gem to get my AQ, so I'm not concerned about the DE that I have. If you are just going to come in here and be extremely rude and negative, please don't post as I do not want to hear it. If you have some constructive criticism, I am open to hearing it. Yes, I have a full time job as a business development manager and I don't live on CoC, but I love playing it. So, don't try to knock my personal life. Just give me your opinion, and if you possibly went to TH9 sooner than I am considering, how it went for you and how often you farm etc. As much info as possible for me to make the best decision, I just think going to 9 will make it more enjoyable for me because there will be more to do. Thank you for any suggestions and input you have.

Max mortars, archer towers all level 8 and a few level 9, one cannon level 10 and a few upgrading to 10, teslas are all level 3, air defenses are all level 4 and one upgrading to 5, wizard towers are maxed at 6, and collectors are mostly level 10. i play often enough that I don't need to rely heavily on them, however i upgrade them as i see fit.

You're ready. I went way earlier then you(I rarely war), and I'm doing great. Already have level two xbows, lvl 6 barch, etc. You can farm for upgrades, and dump excess into walls. Near maxed TH8 you'll be able to handle the transition just fine. When you farm what Th do you usually attack? 8 or 9? ready. Can you barely take 50k from th7? not ready..

Edit:honestly I think you'll regret not going sooner. Th9 is way more fun for me than 8 was..

I farm TH7's with ease, mainly using barch and my BK and use spells if the reward is over 200K elixir. I look for abandoned bases mainly, but if I find a base when over 200K of each I attack it regardless. I don't get very far on high level TH9's only using barch. However, in the clan war we are in I GoWiPe'd 2 TH9's and 3 starred them both with little resistance as both xbows were aimed up. I only worry I am going to go to TH9 and have issues finding loot to farm, bc that is the only thing holding me back from other clan mates that farm as TH9s.

I would say to get those defenses done (especially the teslas), and then you're ready.

As you stated before, you don't need to get all troops maxed.

I keep hearing people mention to get teslas maxed out, while I agree, I don't know if I have the patience. As I stated above, I play daily and throughout the day at work and after work I play quite a bit. So, I can wait to upgrade, I'm just bored because TH9's are the only ones that even attempt to attack me, and when they do they don't get very far unless they use a gowipe or some very expensive attack strategy. Which tells me, if only TH9s are attacking me and I am NOT getting 3 starred, unless it's a gowipe or gowiwi or something like that, then as a TH9 I should be fine. But since I'm not there yet, I wanted peoples opinions who made the jump as early as I am considering or even earlier than me to gauge where I will be and what roadblocks I will face.

If you can bear it I would hold our for BK and teslas. You won't touch the BK for a while until you get queen to 10-15 so you might as well get him to 10 now. And level 7 telsas are almost your best defense at th9.

If not go ahead, you'll still do fine just focus on xbows and telsas only as far as defenses go

1.) at 9 you can get stronger farm troops.
2.) stay at 8 and max out your war troops, then go to 9 and get even stronger. (option 2)
3.) your teslas and ad could go up, but with your walls where they are now, I think you'll be fine.
You should know that teslas are huge in TH9 though, its hard to upgrade them when you have so much else you want to upgrade..You seem to be a decent farmer though. (see 4)
4.) Loot in 9 has been the same for me as 8. I have great days/weeks, and sometimes it dries up a bit. I think the lvl 12 mines/pumps will start coming into play more and more in the next couple weeks.
5.) you are going to be able to handle it. You'll have a place to dump resources...easy peasy...

So far that's two people telling me to do teslas. upgrading BK to 10 is a new idea I didn't think of. So, considering teslas from 3 to 4 takes 6 days I believe I'm looking at another month or so on just teslas and probably 2 months for BK? seeing how when I farm TH8's, TH7's, and TH9's I don't get much dark elixir just using barch.

Thank you for the feedback man! I thank everyone so far actually. Seeing how you went to TH9 before I did and seem to be doing well that's very encouraging for me. I know you said you don't war often, but are you looking for a clan to play with that is active daily? I know I enjoy having friends on to chat with while I farm lol. We do war weekly, sometimes twice a week depending on if people have certain upgrades they want to finish. Most of the people in my clan are people I know personally or are friends of friends. We try to keep our clan relatively small, we have 18 members currently and have only lost 1 war thus far. Not saying we are amazing or unbeatable for those guys out there that want to prove they can smash us, because we know you can. I'm just saying, we have a lot of fun warring and we are all farmers at heart because we all have the same objective; max our bases out. Anyways, if not, no worries, just thought I would throw that out there if you are interested, but I really enjoyed your insight and appreciate you guys taking the time to reply to this thread. However, I would love to hear more opinions or ideas, because I may make the jump to TH9 tonight!!

It's more time then you'll want to spend you're going to be capped on elixir. But I'm telling tou that teslas don't even get good until level 6, and while they are expensive now, they're pretty much the cheapest th9 defense upgrade yet they have one of the highest DPS and high rate of fire. I would upgrade them as much as you can now and when you get to th9 the ONLY defense you should upgrade is xbow and tesla until max, then do everything else
