Is time really money? | Gems worth spending?

Supercell rakes in quite a bit of cash each day, mostly by players buying and using gems. Some people may argue not to use gems as it is a waste of money. Others may say that gemming barracks is worth the gems due to the theory that you can farm 4 times as efficiently. Some spend thousands on gems so that they can become one of the best. Do you agree that investing time in clash and not spending gems is better than spending a bit and being more efficient? Are collector boosts worth it? Spell factory boost? Everyone has their opinions. What do you think?

but for some of the richer players, Spending for gems would be more efficient

do whatever you think is best for you, the only thing I can say is that - I spend 10 dolars monthly and this make the game 10x more fun, if you think you will be better than other just because you spend more time grinding is silly

You can also argue that spending time on clash is a waste of time. ITs just a hobby, do whatever you like. I like spending gems when upgrades have 1 day to 12 hours left, because im desperate...

Also, Boosting is fine if you want to sit 2 hours straight. Since there isnt many innactives lately, barch isnt so good when boosted as it used to be.

I don't spend money on CoC or any other game, cause it's just a game.

I also try not to spend allot of time on games cause in the end, time is more important that money!

It depends. Time is money. Spend your gems efficiently according to your playing style. Some would argue that spending 40.00 plus dollars at the movie theatre is a waste of money. But the same people will spend 60+ on a console game they likely won't play nearly as long as they play clash. As with any entertainment or luxury spending stay within your budget. It is afterall just a game.

People spend plenty of money on games. The average new console game costs $60. PC games are bout $50? And thats before you spend money on downloadable content. How much money is spent by the average, long term WOW or LOL player?

Spending money on gaming is not bad. If your spend $1000+ you might be a bit addicted. Ive spent about the equivalent of a new PC game ($50) and thats enough for me. I may spend another $5 here and there, but i prefer the challenge of the grind.

I think it is rather expensive to use gems to speed up or buy resources. I strongly prefer boosting barracks and/or spell factory/heroes. A few quick good attacks can gain you more in the 2 hour boost than buying resources ever could.

Well gem players are right. Time is money. Boosting really help. I dont have money for that. I cant even buy 5th worker :D Joke.

It depend how much you love this game. For example I like this game. But dont like so much to spend money. Bcs building time are ridicilious. I mean I have "only" 4 workers and game is slow. But that is okay.

But what not is okay are prices. I mena you need to spend average salary on my country to only instant upgrade 2 buildings. Lol

It depend where you live. If you are on some "rich" country you can spend money. But.... even playing without gems is okay but so much slow.

If I want to buy something 5th worker only worth. Anything other - No. So big price for....nothing.

Putting time into the grind is no issue for me. I spend the gems I get for free from the game and that's it. The fact that I have spent zero dollars on this game and the amount of enjoyment I have got in return is astronomical.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on Xbox games and PC games in my lifetime, not to mention new computers and machines to run the stuff on. To be able to play this game and enjoy it for free really is a treat.
