BAM is your fastest and most efficient way to get elixir, it will also get you a ton of gold. Just find the right trophy range, I used c3 and g1 when i blitzed my camps (IMHO the biggest PITA @ th10), but this was months ago and the landscape has since changed.
Leave a free builder or at least make sure you have one finishing at least every day to dump gold into walls or pricey upgrades. I also did minions first in the lab and had both heroes available to farm.
i used to be all about bam but have gone to barching more as of late. Maybe I'll try to pick it back upQuote:

It really doesn't take long to save elixir when you spend next to nothing. It's been my strategy whenever I've needed to save up for an 8m research.

but i use bag (barb and gobs, along with few wb) i go prior for pump... dropping a lot, trying to find the place where there is the most uncollected collectors... snipe exposed th when happens for loot bonus, try to spend no more than 1troop for 1000 of ressources
that's how i manage to get elixir

DE seem more efficiently spent on minions that on hogs to me
Barch or bam is the best to farm elixir and gold if u cab find abandoned bases.
use bam
queue 2 barrack archer 2 barrack barb 2 dark barrack minion
all full and maxed out
15 minute army
88 barb
72 archer
40 minion
46.4k elixir and 440 de only.
and you don't have to boost if your luck is bad with the nexting. this served me for most of my level 11 walls [currently 106 now]
I'm TH10 and farming elixir in Crystal 2 with something like: 20 Giants (lvl6), 8 Wizards (6), 10 Hogs (5), 25 Archers (6), 18 Barbs, 10 Gobs (5), and 4 Minions (4).
Mostly I'm going for the bonus, there doesn't seem that much else is possible. The best thing for me has been to find a 400k base and hit two storages, especially if the TH is outside. The question is: am I wasting my elixir/de here? I never really see many bases that I think I could get through using BARCH or BAM unless I was using 2+ spells per attack and had the use of my hero's (aq 12, bk 14). Or is this tactic just about boosting everything so you've always got your hero's and spells available? I use BARCH with my low level TH9 android game and it seems pretty effective there, but I'm pretty dubious of its capacity attacking TH9 and TH10. Occasionally somebody who attacks me using BARCH gets at one of my storages, but it's only ever one and the profit they make is pretty minimal...
