I think SuperCell wanted wanted so many people to complain about the wall update

which is extremely debatable.

With it being announced along with all the other updates some people haven't cared as they have liked the new stuff they have got (e.g new DE drill).

However if it was announced on its own everyone would have gone hell for leather complaining about it for 2 weeks as they haven't got anything to please them at that time.

I doubt they purposely wanted to upset anyone...... As regards to complaints, you do realise that the vast majority of clashers do not use these forums... its highly unlikely that formers are in any way representative of clashers in general.... In my clan only one or two grumbled a bit about the change... The rest just got on with building their extra drill, and upgrading collectors..... (They are getting happier with extra loot to raid as well, judging by the upturn in replays being shared)

and many players just don't know anything about announcements, i am always bringing the info to my clan because almost none of them comes here

^^^ This. Having a pre-sneak peek before the sneak peeks, especially to deliver not so good news (perceived by those who have level 7 walls and lower) would probably have bombarded these forums until the update.

I think the way the information was delivered was done as fairly as it could have been.

My personal opinion is that this adjustment to walls is the perfect compromise.

No we would have had 2 weeks of more complaining!

How is what they did any different than what you're saying? They might as well have released an announcement two months ago, considering they once again mucked up the elixir for walls feature. Releasing it as it is now would be a perfect example of them wanting people to complain, b/c they can't even get this simple fix done right. If they wanted people to not complain, they would have implemented the elixir for walls feature correctly the second time around, if not from the colossal error of the first attempt.
