Terrible!!!

I am just terrible at attacking. I have level 4 troops, I see how people attack me and I try the same. I fail horribly.

Do you mean in clan wars or just difficult to get to storage bases for farming?

Understanding the purpose of each unit within any given army composition, what their job is and how they all fit together to get the 3 star on the base is what's necessary beyond copying something that seems to work.

If you're a Th7, which I am guessing you are, a few common 3 star attack strategies are Drag/Lightning, Dragloon, Hogs (big bombs are dangerous to low level Hogs) and Giant/Wiz maybe with Healers, but Healers can suck sometimes. 2-3 Heals should suffice to get through another Th7 and you can use the troop space for something else.

Some more examples could help but there are tons of guides and vids out there for various attack strategies for all the town hall levels.
