Hog riders are useless now.

Hogs are not nerfed at all. Attackers just don't have the luxury of dropping 40 hogs and healing through double giant bombs.

Instead, you have to take the time to scout a base and identify double giant bombs and determine!a composition that

A) Lures clan castle
B) Breaks hog ring
C) Destroys cheap defenses (loons outside of ad range)
D) Create a kill squad and cleanup crew to kill aq and clear junk at the end of the raid

Moreover, you actually have to identify strategies to trip double giant bombs OR understand hog pathing such that you trip then individually.

It requires real precision and planning to achieve a 3 star. Which is what it should require. ♥♥♥♥ the old hog rush. Anybody could do that.

Then how come i still 3 star with em in cw? They take skill to use now ffs

Still useful. I've been having a lot of fun raiding with 4-6 of them - surprising how far they can get once all defense is locked on the giants, and they can help path the giants as well (if they're heading in the wrong direction, send in the hogs at their target). Course not everyone wants to burn DE raiding.

I do think they're overnerfed a little however. Perhaps SC should make them take up 4 spaces, so a hog squad fits better in a golem based army? Or would that risk bringing back mass hogs. I suppose a damage buff would do the same thing.

Hogs have taken an absolute battering at TH10.

Hogs are still over powered. They are just absurd. They are super fast and go right for defenses ignoring walls. I still see hogs used all the time for 2-3 star easy raids.

Yes, it is definitively a TH9 strategy. I have seen 3 stars with hogs on TH10 bases that mistakenly place GBs on the outside of the base.

The GBs can single shot a max hog @ TH10 and the defensive units can be insurmountable for a lvl 5 hog. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a lvl 6 hog to make them relevant again @ TH10.

Primarily used in follow on attacks to achieve three stars, after cc composition and trap locations have been identified.
