TH8 and King Level 10

I'm a TH8 and currently have BK level 6. My goal is to get him to L10 before going to TH9 but sometimes this is a nightmare trying to hold on to this much DE. Even if I put my TH out, I still get my DE zapped. I lost more than 3k of DE during one offline because of multiple zappers leaving with 0% damage and finally a TH9 came through and wiped me for more than 1100 in one shot. Seems I'm often swimming against the tide.

Do many other TH8s struggle to upgrade the king to L10? I'm struggling to simply get to 25k DE, I know I will eventually, but I'm trying to imagine then saving up 30, 35 and 40k DE.

Easy to get at th8. I maxed mine in a month and now have to only do dark upgrades in lab. Other wise I will top out.

Everyone wants DE, and yeah it can be a struggle for more casual players. How's your current defense situation(or upgrades in general)? Th9 helps alot with DE. But then, you're going to want to spend DE on the queen :) I would say stick it out, play in as long of sessions as possible, and hope for TH snipes. Your TH is outside, completely away from defenses, right?

Max your DE storage if you haven't.
Then revenge the zappers and get your de back

I recommend using this base for saving up your DE. I have only had a couple TH9's attack me and successfully steal some but many others have failed in doing so. At first I thought it was going to be difficult to retain all of my DE but it really wasn't that bad.

I struggled for a while trying to save enough DE, but it has gotten easier. I reached TH8 on October 9 with my BK at level 5, and got my BK to level 10 on November 26. Then I decided to save up to upgrade Golems to level 2 while I was in the process of upgrading my PEKKA, and I actually filled my DE storage (80,000) before my lab was available.

I have my TH way out in the corner, and my DE storage dead-center in my base. I do get zapped occasionally, but much less than I expected. I don't break my shield very often, and I try to get a good, long raiding session in, but more often than not, when I do get attacked, I get TH sniped.

My Golem upgrade finishes today, and I have over 50,000 DE; I'm going to start Hog Riders level 3 upgrade this evening.

I have spent most of my time between 1700 and 2000 trophies. I am perfectly happy to zap for DE myself, if I can get more than about 600 DE for my three lightning spells.

Power through it, I did mine consecutively. Went from 4-10 and solely used a builder for him. I was in Silver 1 to Gold 3 because at the time my base wasn't good enough for Gold 2 or 1. I boosted barracks and would raid for DE specifically for 2 hours using barch and lightnings. Try to find a DE base so you don't get raided for it often, upgrade the storage to lvl 4, and just stay consistent it. Even if you have enough DE for the next upgrade, keep going, always make sure you'll have more than what's required cuz that'll just help your next upgrade.

Trophy range has a lot to do with it, I upgraded my BK from 6-10 and did Golems to lvl2 and hogs to 4 while in Crystal 1-2. Although the attackers up there are stronger, they are more likely to take the TH snipe, because the trophies are so important up there and the bonus is nice. In gold leagues however, no one cares if they drop trophies so zapping and moving on is no big deal, especially for weak attackers that cant get to the de with troops.

Max your DE storage, more HP = less lost. Also, rise in trophy ranks, you meet less zappers. Protect your storage well!

Well, the site isn't letting me upload a screenshot of my base for some reason. It may not be optimal but I do have my DE storage centered and I have four maxed mortars around it and three air defenses next to those. My TH is way out in a corner, far enough away for people to know it's not likely to be a trap, next to a wall. I will use that other suggested DE farming base as one of my three.

Good suggestion on the maxing out my DE storage. Mine is only an L3, I'll get it to 4.

As for going to a higher trophy level, it seems every time I get over 1400 trophies, the problem isn't zappers, it's the much stronger TH9s that come in and just wipe it all out for 1200 DE or so. At least the zappers only get 750ish.

I did have one fun revenge yesterday. I saw a zapper in my history, he took 750 DE and minimal gold and elixir. I viewed his base and he had 1200 DE and over 450,000 resources available with TH8 and gold walls! I got 100% of that one. That was my favorite revenge so far.
