more inactive bases found during barrack boosting?

I do about one or two barrack boosting sessions a week. It may be anecdotal, but I got the impression that I find inactive bases with juicy collectors more quickly during those sessions. I am thinking about every 15 nexting, instead of 30 or 45 nexting. I am TH8 and stay in Gold 2 and 3.

It's because you're a th8. That's when I found my best loot because you don't get a huge penalty

I think it's perception based, meaning: since you're able to go out and attack quicker it seems you're finding more abandoned bases. I boost my barracks several times a week (atleast 5 times) and I find them constantly. I am also TH8 level 70 and I farm gold 3 gold 2 as well, and sometimes gold 1 if I don't drop trophies while farming.
