Seriously behind?

Hey all. I'm lvl 86 town hall 8, soon to be town hall 9. I have lvl 3 minions, lvl 2 hogs and lvl 6 king. I was wondering if that was waaay behind what I should be with dark elixir upgrades, because I think it is. How much dark elixir upgrades did you do before you made the move to town hall 9? Thankyou.

Maxed defences.

DE upgrades dont matter. Just imagine you did not have any dark troops. But then you'll always fancy a Golem. Have dreams about the lvl 4 Golem at Th9. Or max Hogs, which you'd have to wait two months for.

Already got maxed defenses, except walls. It would be nice to get my king to at least lvl 10 before town hall 9, and I probably will, seeing that walls are going to take double the amount of time now...just like the good old days! But thankyou for that, was reassuring. Can't seem to have more dark elixir than 10k before the jackals start crawling out of their dens to come and zap it.

That´s a difficult question sir

I can tell you this, I am th8, lvl so I think good comparison.

Here is where I am:
- all tier 1,2,3 troops maxed besides pekka (level 3 is last lvl needed)
- all spells maxed for this evel
- all buildings and defenses maxed beside the new 2nd DE drill that came available at the latest upgrade
- a third of all walls maxed
- minions and hogs at lvl3, valkyrie and golem still at 1
- king at lvl9 (soon to gp to 10'

My personal preference in upgrades is:
- Upgrade defense that provide splash damagae (like mortar/wizard, inferno)
- upgrade other defense (canon, bow, tesla, etc)
- upgrade heroes
- upgrade troops
- upgrade spells

Stay online for prolonged sessions and on boost when you do DE upgrades. I upgradeed with Bk7, doesn't hurt at all. Got Queen to help him out now, she's probably the best troop of the game.

I got everything maxed except those dark troops, king and viciously difficult walls. Good job on getting dark stuff upgraded, also have fun getting pekkas to lvl 3, was probably the most stress inducing thing I have ever done.

Im 3 days left from my town hall becoming TH9. I upgraded my Hogs to level 4 and minions to level 3 and barb King to level 10 but thats it as defence (maxed Th8 defence) was not strong enough against bigger player raiding me constanlty and stealing the DE as i tried to save 50-60k De for other Upgs. My plan is to get some Lvl 6 troops to make it easier to raid higher up in the leagues and collect DE faster so i dont end up sitting on 40K for too many days looking for the last amounts.

Mmm, yeah. I just got my fifth builder a couple of hours ago so I got nothing to spend gems on now, so I probably will do some boosting. I think the queen would be better if she was born with the other half of her brain.

That's why I'm prolonging my golem lvl 2 upgrade so much. As much as I want them, greedy town hall 9's come and lap it up as I sit there powerless to stop them...and im not sure I'm mentally stable enough to handle it.

I'm also TH8, Planning to go TH9 nxt year, got every structure maxxed except for lvl12 collectors

BK@9, lvl1 golems and valkyries

still need 150k DE for those 3...
and that's 20d for the lab to work on...

tbh, I don't really care about being efficient, it's just my playstyle :p
I'm a completionist of sorts

Good Luck on TH9, I think DE generation is better there :)

Max defence is probably the main thing. Dark is easier at TH9 than TH8, and the loot [lack] at TH9 is the main reason to upgrade all buildings at TH8 before moving up.

Hehe, thank you. Tbh I don't really want to go to town hall 9...I really enjoy town hall 8 and pretty much all i do on this forum is complain about how annoying town hall 9's are.

Another reason why I don't want to go to town hall 9. Really wish this dark elixir drill came earlier, as it barely affects me at all seeing that im not going to be town hall 8 much longer.

Yes. I did it, so can you.

My TH9 upgrade just finished. As a TH8, I maxed everything except valks and golem as you will be getting more DE as a TH9 (drills lvl6). I maxed hoggs and pekka's because I like destroying bases during CW, if you don't, it's not really a must.

I think maxing you king is a must as a TH8, you only have 10 levels and as you move to TH9 and get the AQ, you'd want to take her to lvl10 asap and the lvl10 King will be very helpful farming. I'd consider maxing your minions too as you likely will be using loonions sometime in TH9 to farm fellow TH9's and TH10's.

Also, don't forget to fill your storages and clan castle, building those xbows and the AQ+upgrade first is the best thing to do, imo.

Your King is a decent level, and you're only behind on minions and hogs if you actually use them. If you don't use minions or hogs then their levels are actually decent too.
Get yourself to TH9 and get Queen, Golem and Witch and you'll be on your way ;)

If you raid in Gold 1 or low Crystal leagues you'll find nice amounts of dark elixir

Right, I do have lvl 3 pekkas btw. Right now I don't really have the time to do all of that as a town hall 8, im quite close to town hall 9 and I don't think it is possible to do ALL of this in such a short time, thankyou for the advice though.

I don't use minions or hogs...except for maybe cc bait. You get golems at town hall 8. I made a dash to crystal quickly and that place was dripping with dark elixir, but i shortly moved back to my home in gold. Thankyou for the advice.

I had my de pegged at 80k for a few weeks while I finished walls and th was on the way to 9. At least get the 40k to put her in your village.

most people in th 9 dont even have that many de upgrades, i think ur fine
