Barch is... killing this Game

So... I started played Coc since February. I paid like 25$ to get my Builder when I was mid- TH8. Currently, I maxed TH9, except Heroes (both 25). I had 124 Lego and 54 Lava.

I consider myself "quick developed". I could do a little faster if I got my builder sooner, but not much. I always keeps all of my builders and lab working. They never stops, even for one days. So I guess it's max speed already.

I don't often boost because I don't like "intense" farming. I would rather build troops, raid, log out do sth else, and come back after 20m to do another raids.

I use Giants Healers and it's super effective. I love them. I feel good when I can predict exactly where my troops going to go. Using Arc and wbs to clear the way, I can direct my Giants to exactly where I want it to be.

I don't barch. It don't have the patient to pressing next looking for abandon base. I almost always end up attack storage when I see a base with good loots, and end up loosing, wishing if I bring my "real Army".

In short, I'm NOT a fan of Barch.

However, another thing that I'm not a big fan of: letting my builder rest. I'm at the very end of TH9 already. I only have collectors, 1 dark barrack, 2 barrack, one AT and Heroes left. Btw, I left my AT tower because I want to "fool mysefl" that: "You haven't max out defense yet. Stay here, max out Heroes and Defense before moving to TH10". Anyway, as my calculation, it would take at least 2 months (8 weeks) to max out my heroes. I couldn't farm enough to upgrade both Heroes AND upgrading dark troops at the same time. 8 weeks is not enough for me to farm wall. I only make around 20k DE, 3-4m Gold, 3-4m Elixir per day. So... What's the fastest way to get Gold & elixir: Barch.

SO I decide to give barch another try.

It's... amazing. I make 3m each resources and a few k DE in 2 hours boosting (2 barrack)

It's so quick that I don't want to get back to my old method of farming anymore. And trust me, my old method of farming is super effective. I proved it through my speed of development.

But, barch is so boring. It's all... luck. Yes, it's all about finding abandon base. And all you do is drop a few archer to get a few building that's out of defense ranges. After that it's two/four finger technique. Dropping troops around the base and watch. The last step is drop some troops and heroes (if available) to clean up some building to get 50%. And you constantly raids in 2 hours (every 6m). Honestly, I can only do that for once per day (2 hours) boosting.

No wonder people complaint about the Game getting bored. Nexting to find abandon base is a pain. I solve that pain by snipping when I see and open TH.

There's no loot problem. There is only problem with the abandon base.

Barch is effective, no doubt. But it's killing the Game. No fun in attacking abandon base.

So many things are "killing" this game on these forums. I guess that's why the game is so unpopular and lame (sarcastic tone).

Barch isn't just for collector raiding with Heros and spells i smash into storages also. Of course i also use 8 wb. Your army comp is what I use for de. I don't see how people barching dead bases effects you at all but I sure am happy when I happen across a dead base while using barch..

no one forces you to use Barch.. if it's boring, don't use it

sure...there's that to do with barch,
but try going higher with barch, or start going for storages, that'll give you more of a challenge !

I turn to barch if I want to get ahead with a certain upgrade but otherwise I am enjoing the ride to TH10, no need to try to get there as fast as in anyway possible. Espescially at near finished TH9, where I am now too, take your time, play the way you want and how you feel comfortable. You have a range of attack strategies, you have strong troops ... I'd rather be a well delveloped TH9 than an early TH10 for a little time longer. Don't stress yourself.

True. I do storage when I see easy storage, too. Especially when it's DE and I have my QUeen.

The problem with Heroes & Spell is I don't often has Heroes. And spell, if you use all 4 spells in a storage raids, or even 2 spells, it would take you at least 20-30m to build these back. Barch is all about efficiency. It's not that efficiency anymore.

And I don't care if other use barch, or attacking inactive base.

My point is:

Barch is the most effective farming way >>> Peole use barch

But Barch is boring >>> People get bored of the game.

When the abandon base is dry, people get frustrated with lack of "loot"

Try something else to get loot >>> Not as effective >>> make people come back to barch.

Actually, I don't think loot has ever is the problem. If you attack storage, there are loot, always.

It's a vicious circle that make the game boring. I guess that's why SC tried to nerf barch. And yeah, people ♥♥♥♥♥♥ about that.

i find barch boring as well but to each his own the only problem i have is the barchers who think its ok to send in as few troops as possible and dont atleast 40% the base. When i do come across a dead base 4 out 0f 5 times there is no loot. barch till you drop if thats your thing but atleast 40% the base.

It is the broken loot System that is killing the game. There is a fixed amount of attacks that can be done a day for all Players, but more Players want to attack and no bases remain, so the worst are shown to everybody.

The ONLY way to fix loot is to decrease average shield times to a Level where there are more bases that can be attacked than Players that want to attack.

Nerfing barch against high Level bases with lvl13 archer Towers was a needed balancing in masters against barchers that go for the new league bonues (which was intended for high Level troops). Also new mines are nice for Players that dont attack and no elixir for walls increases elixir availability, but this will not fix the main Problem. Loot simply gets try above 2000 because Players are too active there, which makes th10 a pain.

If you like more fun game, you could try racing games. This game is all about 'progress'.

So, you freely choose to use an attack style you find boring, and that's killing the game?

If you don't want to Barch, don't do it. Forcing your self to do something, is what's "killing" CoC for you.

The first goal to evolve in this game is getting loot. With loot you build army for war and your base, upgrade troops, etc. That said, there are 5 ways to get loot in this game:

1- Get from others in raids
2- Victory bonus
3- War bonus
4- Mines and collectors
5- Buy with gems

Going backwards, buying with gems, while not "wrong" or anything like that, is not a method worth discussing. You pay, you get. Not so many mid-long term players do this because costs escalate quickly.

Mines and collectors are good, slow method to gather currency, but with the slow generation rate you might lose more than you get per day or break even when you get raided. After you max your mines there is nothing you can do to improve it (other than boosting them, but that is related to buying loot)

War bonus can be very attractive, but is unreliable (you may lose) and the maximum rate you can get it is once every 2 days, not to mention how much you spend on war troops to get the bonus. Not much you can do to increase this output either, leading to the 2 free repeatable ways to get loot, both related to raiding.

Taking loot from others and victory bonuses are the fastest ways to get free loot. The problem is that victory bonuses just start becoming attractive in very high leagues, so in every other league we have to rely on raid loot to consistently upgrade things. Unlike victory bonuses, this kind of loot is not "generated" in the system, it is just transferred from one player to the other. That said, the most effective way to get such loot and keep other players from getting it from you is staying online for long hours and raiding as much as possible (possible exception for very strong TH10 bases that can actually defend their loot from any player). The fastest army to build is Barch and it is quite effective, so the popular choice in leagues where there is no big victory bonus is easy and the main targets are the real money generators in those leagues: abandoned bases. Other players are mainly transferring currency around of dumping it in upgrades.

I can see what OP is saying, there are other troops I'd like to play with- I'm TH7 and barely used wizards thus far- but realistically if you want to grind efficiently and progress quickly (without gemming) Barch is the best way to get there. It's too cheap, effective and quick to train for me to bother with wizards, giants etc. but the same goes for any rpg I've played- the quickest way isn't always the most fun, but I'll do it and grind regardless as it's a means to an end.

I think that's part of what makes war so much fun, as it's more about trying the different troop combos, and you'd be dead trying to Barch in CW- so it balances out a bit.

Barch is not killing the game.... its a viable strategy. .

What's killing the game for you, seems to be that you insist on efficiency... so freaking what, if barch is the most efficient?

It's a game, play it in a way that is fun for you, and forget being efficient. .. You chose to barch, for your own reason, stop bicthing and whining about it...

There is next to no logic in your post.

Okay, you have 124 Lego?? I have over 10,000. But seriously that made no sense. And if you don't like Barch, don't use. Problem solved.

People do not get that it's not a complain post. It's just opinion.

As one of the post above said, this game is ALL about processing. SC sell TIME. So, it's all about how quick you process.

Because it's a game about process, and human nature is competitive, so we, in general, not just me, would tend to use the most efficient way to process. And it's barch. That's the reason why a lot of people use barch. You can ask them. I'm sure they don't use barch because it's fun or it's challenging.

And the problem is barch is boring. And when people do it over and over, it makes the game boring.

Of course, there are others troops. But it's costly, and it's not efficiency, so many people tend to avoid them as possible.

I didn't ask for a "solution" how to make my game not boring. Of course I know, I just use barch to grin my lava, and I will come back to giants healer and balloonion. The post is just my opinion explaining why so many people complain about loot, and so many people complain about the game getting boring.

Quite a bold statement just because you don't like barching.

You know the funny thing is, you can make just the kind of army you want and enjoy playing with. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean no one else can or should.

Personally, I'm mostly using barch, mixing it up with BAM and overnight Balloonion on Lavaloonion. I'm still enjoying barching and I'm also grinding away at lv10 walls.

Hey there, i BARCH and BAM while i farm or trophy push. When i get too high in trophys, i dump 30 on someone as a gift. I even go for just collectors sometimes and can't get a 50% and therefor gift whatever trophy's were lost. I don't think the game is ruined by mine or 10,000 others BARCHING, It's all about having fun and relaxing by pushing your finger around on a screen and raising your adrenaline level through electronic mental stimulii. Please stop complaining about people, places and things that are not physically or verbally harming you........Gem or don't Gem, Barch or don't barch, hit next or don't hit next. It's only a game for goodness sakes.....Clash on.......:cool:
