Th9-10 attack strategy question

I see that the top players that run Gowi** attack strategies bring a mob of wallbreakers with them (20+ sometimes). Why is that?

I mean I understand what they do and that more will penetrate deeper into the base, but I don't know about using the strategy in the practical application. I usually bring enough for the exterior wall where my Golems want to get in, maybe a secondary, but mostly utilize a rage to get through any subsequent walls, maybe a jump spell. Is it worth the trade off that happens with the capacity that the wallbreakers take up, in that they make up a better momentum for getting through the base for the Golems, Wizards, Pekka's, etc..?

I'm not asking because i'm at a loss of what to do, just curious about what the potential is and how it could effect adjusting my current approach.

Any Th9-10 3 star slayers want to drop some info in here?

I used to bring 6-10 WBs. But I pick my bases carefully. If it's a anti-base with defensive rings and no intersecting walls, you only need raged 4 wbs. Jump spell have saved my GoWiWipe for the 3-star before the Christmas update, but sometimes AQ ignores the jump spell because of her range.

With the skeleton traps distracting Pekkas and the higher HPs of cannons, L3 pekkas aren't what they used to be. So I'm going to switch to a GoWiWi and bring on 12-20 Wbs depending on the base. 12 wbs, 2 golems, 6 witches, rest wiz. If compact base with a lot of walls but giant bomb uncertainty, i'll up my wbs to maybe 20, add a golem, 6 witches, rest wiz. Have 3-starred weak one TH9 and 2-starred one mid-TH9 with Gowiwi since the update.

Hey bud, I think just bring enough wb to do the job of getting into core.
