Language setting has no bearing on available loot - PROOF

Most people can't explain it because most of us don't understand all the ins and out and technicalities associated with it.

I'm sure you haven't tested every single possible reason for why this might or might not work either so you are not in a position to say you know for a fact it works or not.

What I do know is that at the times I play I can next forever in the english language and never find loot, but as soon as a change to Korean I find loaded bases. Works every day.

My whole clan does this and it works.

Edit: it could also simply be pure random luck.

It's possible I've been unlucky in the english language...every day...for 8 months straight and lucky in the korean language...every day...for 8 months straight. I'll take it.

Makes sense, I suspected such.

On those long, fruitless, lootless searches in english, did you reload game at any point, in same or any language? Would achieve same effect.

Agreed, changing language probably don't change anything, but as it makes you disconnect/reconnect you changed the server you are connected to, and here the camps it offers you to attak are not the same (but may be they are offering better loot, may be not)

Exactly. Im not saying Im changing servers or anything by changing language. Im saying whatever change happens by reloading helps me find loot very fast.

Those long, fruitless nexting session are long gone. 20 nexts is too much for me.

I think folks are catching on. Badfish can come out of the darkened room in which he was forced to lie, recovering from a migraine brought on by reading idiocy.

Now, wipe CoC off of your phone and change your region to US. Install CoC and see what data center you connect to. I will bet it will be a US data center. Change the language to Chinese and check again. Probably going to be US again.

Those who have a little technical know-how and use CoC on an 'unauthorized device' can check this fairly easily. I could check it but I'm not going to bother because I already know it's a waste of time. Changing your language does not change the data center you connect to and will have no effect on the loot available.

And what does global chat have to do with searching for a raid?

Every person you talk to on global chat is online.

Every base you find in a raid search is an offline base.

Since the language setting is stored only on the client's device - as you agree in your post - how is a language setting associated with an offline base?


Thinking that changing your language to Chinese will somehow allow you to find offline bases of people that live in China is about as reasonable as thinking that changing your language to Spanish will change the currency you can buy gems with to pesos.

Even if the OP is correct, there is the placebo effect here. That can't be argued.

I have found if loot is dry, I spin clockwise with my left hand on my nose for 30 seconds, loot immediately improves. It works every time. This works better than the language setting. I've tested both and so has my entire family and all of my friends, even those that don't play.

However, it is important to note that in medicine, the placebo effect can actually cause an improvement in the patient's condition as a direct effect of their beliefs or expectations that the placebo itself was effective.

In CoC, numbers are numbers, and the actual available loot you find when searching for a raid is hard data which is in no way affected by your personal beliefs or expectations.

But I would agree with you that spinning clockwise with your left hand on your nose for 30 seconds is just as effective as changing your language (as long as you log off first before performing the ritual and then log back on) :cool:
