X-mas tree question

If I tap the present as soon as it comes, will it continue to make more presents or will it just be a decoration/obstacle?

I have one on the outside of my base and it only spawned 1, and that was with the tree. So from my experience, I would say no. But that might be because I have it on the outside of my base.

8 hours offline per spawn then factor in the other obstacles that are RNG, that's what I heard.
