Should I kick out kids from my clan? Is it fair?

I run a clan and it is relatively new. A few kids have joined as well. Ideally, I would like all adults in my clan. Or atleast 15+. But that doesn't always happen. It's a game and a lot of kids play it. I am in a doubt now. Should I kick out these kids or keep them?

Here is why I don't kick out kids from my clan:
1. It's just a game and there is no reason to kick out anyone because there is nothing objectionable or offensive going on. Our chats are clean as well.

2. It is difficult to keep track of everyone's age. People can just lie about their age to get into adults only clan.

3. Kicking out kids is discrimination on the basis of age. It will be unfair on them. Our clan believes in performance (stars in wars) and not age. So, I don't kick out anyone.

I am a responsible citizen and I think people (even kids) are safe in my clan under my supervision.

But, I would prefer 15+ people in my clan.

How do I do it without hurting the kids in my clan who are regularly playing and getting many stars in wars! I wonder.

IMO age doesn't matter as long as they are well behaved.

To me the question is..... Are they good clan Mates? Do they donate, participate in chat, score well in clan wars? Keep kid drama to the minimum? If so , keep them.... I've had a lot of adults that couldn't do this..... Plus when I can't figure out how to work my Phone they all know how...

It all depends on their behaviour. I'm the same age as most of the "young" clashes but I don't get kicked.

It is your clan do what you want. You are an adult and it is ok to clash with younger people. You shouldn't accept them if you want adult language in your clan. If you want just a mature/ well behaved clan then take whoever in. Some kids are immature and or annoying with spam and comments. It is ok to boot them then. They will annoy others.

I agree with other, age doesn't matter. What matter is if they're active, if they're donating, if they attack in war and if they're friendly.

I have been the leader of a clan for over a year now. We are a mix of teens and adults. The kids for the most part are active and fun. If they start to cause problems then kick, but I think it is a bad idea to kick them just because they are young.

You're overthinking it. Here's why I don't allow kids in my clan: we have different priorities, different goals, different perspectives, different experiences, and different abilities. Many kids play Clash as just another minor diversion. They have plenty of free time and many opportunities to play games with their friends. For many adults, Clash may be one of their only minor diversions. Most adults have work, family, home maintenance, auto maintenance, church, charity, and hundreds more responsibilities and demands on their time. As such, most adults have a different view of what game playing time means and who they want to spend it with.

And let's face it - kids aren't your peers. Unless you're really young, it'd probably be pretty creepy if you were hanging out down at the skate park or basketball court with a bunch of adolescents every day. In my view, playing an online game every day with them on your team isn't far removed. I know I wouldn't want my children on a team and communicating online with unknown adults.

I say keep them. My clan is mainly adults but I know we have 14 year olds there. And you would never know they were 14.
As long as they're well behaved and don't beg for elder/co - usually a good sign that they're kids from what I've seen.
I see no reason to let them go.
If you know your chat is gonna constantly be x-rated then yeah you may need to re-think your decision.

I am a teenager myself and i say go ahead and kick them if they act like one. I personally do not, and people tend to think i am older, which i like :).

Personally, if they act mature and everything then i don't have a problem. If they act immature and create all kinds of drama then i would kick them.

But in the end it's your choice.

If they create an atmosphere in your clan that you dont like then kick them, its your clan after all. Just be reasonable about it and tell them you are raising age requirements, if they start creating a fuss then kick them. You run the risk of other members leaving if the kids are core members though

Kick them now before you get too used to each other. If you want an adult clan, stick to it. It's your clan, if you don't stick to your vision being the leader...what chance does your clan have?

Im not against kids , there are some great ones out there but it's s different clan atmosphere if you have kids in the clan, it's a different kind of responsibility and ultimatly... If they are very Young ...it's a bit weird as someone pointed out.

Imo you should judge children on their maturity within the game as many children in the game can be immature but there are the exceptions within the community that are can be very good clan members, so don't be to fast to judge them.:D

I think if the kid acts mature, donates and doesn't talk about, you know, kid stuff, he should be able to stay as a member. Isn't the main idea of no kids clans to more like weed out immaturity than weed out non-adults? Then again, mature kids are pretty rare.

Would you rather have adults who might not be well, friendly, or younger people who are loyal and are sensible?

First, if you did not set an age limit originally, it would not be decent to kick them solely based on age now. Kick them for other reasons, but not simply for being kids. If they do not behave, kick them for that. You can create new rules to curtail 'childish' behavior if it bugs you. I have a no-spam & no ascii rule, but I do not mind emoticons (use them myself) so long as they aren't overly superfluous.

My recommendation: Either hand off the clan to a co-leader and start another (advertised adults-only) clan or deal with it. Can you kick them? Sure. Should you? No.

I lead a family oriented clan. We have kids (a few under ten), teens, and adults (20's-40's). Several members have their kids in the clan. We also have members all over the globe across several continents, with some who are clearly ESL. Yet by and large, I have very few problems in the clan because that is one of my rules (no drama!).

I have spent some time in an adults only clan and it was alot of fun - I could definitely let my hair down and the double entendres were alot of fun and the chat was much more lively. But I started playing as a bonding experience with my own kids, so I give that up to keep our clan a safe place for my kids to play. I routinely kick new players (regardless of age) for violating our 'no swearing' rule without a second glance. I have given our younger members a little leeway on behavior when they are excited but I have kicked kids too.

Your clan is what you make of it. You as the leader create the culture, and what you allow (silence implies condoning) for behavior will affect who stays or goes. I trust all of my co-leaders implicitly, and I promote based on donations, activity, and behavior. I have a ten year old co-leader, and I have grown-ups who I have demoted from elder to member because of their behavior (inability to follow war plan). Hope this helps give you a little perspective.

They wil become inactive some day. And I will kick them then.

I don't ask anyone their age. And our chat is very clean. We never use any offensive, objectionable or suggestive language. Many kids I've seen have foul mouth. I kick them out. But some teens are regular and get good stars in wars. I will kick them when they become inactive. (Which happens during their exams or assignments or something else)

I would gradually make my clan 15+.

If they act like kids, kick them. If they're bad at attacking or donate wrong then it's no longer about age
