What are people trying to get out of the game, yes, in most cases we can assume a player wants a stronger base, there may be a case here or two where this does not happen but that's getting side tracked, but they may have other secondary goals, perhaps they want a certain trophy level, maybe they are competing with their RL friends on some level, maybe they are chasing achievements etc... the question what should I do to make my base better is not simply answered without know what are you trying to do in this case.
The Farmer or Trophy hunter in of itself is fine, in that if all that means is do you prioritize trophies or resources, it's is more when you start to make further assumptions based on the primary declaration, i.e.
I am a farmer but I only make 500k gold a day, what is the best way for me to advance? Bog standard answer is put your town hall outside and build your defences to max etc... now I know that's a bit obvious but there is little thought by your average poster about where the sliding scale moves and how this should be adjusted.
Ultimately I don't particularly care whether we call it Farmer/trophy hunter/hybrid farmer, it's it sub-sequential assertions that follow, I am a farmer therefore all these rules apply, no, I am a farmer but these are my limitations and as a result slightly different rules apply. does that not make sense?
