I have a maxed th9, I use them in war but not alone. Either with giants or with dragons. They are weaker now but still I manage to get 2 - 3 stars in most of the attacks
Going to 5 right now. Hogs are the 2nd thing I upgraded after lvl 6 balloons. Goho over gowipe any day.
I think they are worth having for the times you come across a war opponent whose base has no hog traps - then it's an easy 3 stars.

I would assume that hogs will run away from golem pretty quickly thus negating its tankiness. I have been contemplating Hound/Hogs (HoHo, if you will). Hound dies pretty quickly but, it kinda' saves one heal spell by delaying the need for the first one. But, hogs are toast no matter the strategy if they land on a double giant bomb.
Hogs just took me to champs 2 weeks ago. Also since the update the screwy ai seems to have gone back to normal, so I would say yes.
Yes they are worth it. When you get to th10 you will want to use them at times for luring and then they will need to be maxed.
Hogs are a in-effective war comp at TH 10. But the best possible luring troop besides giants. They are still pretty effective at TH 9. I have seen some TH 10 3 star war attacks. Takes skills and alot of maxed components.
Also good as a big game farming troop.....max 10 ghost towns don't stand a chance.Quote:
