The most crippling, limiting thing about this game

Is the severely restricted, limiting communications. The Clan leader can send ONE SINGLE email of 512 chars to the clan ONCE per 12 hours!! You cant message individuals, or other clan leaders.. Theres no where you can pin notice board messages. Also, theres no method of Surrendering and conceding a war, instead you have to wait the entire two days and play out what can be a pointless farce.

Leaders need to be able to message the clan whenever they like. How can you post clan orders when theres no way to address all members more than once in 12 hours, apart form the unlikely possibility all members turn up in chat at the same time?

Just thinking out loud here, but what if someone invented an app like kik or line? Silly notion i know.

As far as being able to surrender, how would that work? The full 24 hours are needed so everyone can get both their attacks in. Not everyone plays on the same schedule. And the only way to get a war bonus is to get at least one star.

I actually agree with this ( edit: on clan communication. - not surrender)

Whilst i can appreciate others use external ways of communicating this is not ideal.

I have a mixed age clan and quite frankly I don't want to encourage them to communicate with people they don't know over the web.

My work around for clan mail is to make other people co and send a mail for me (followed by rapid demotion) when a co leader is not around.

There was a stage I had someone send a few mails for me in the clan. Id ask him to write out in chat word for word what he was going to write in the mail. often this would be worded perfectly. But when he sent the mail he used to end it with 'or you will be kicked' . Doh. I found it hilarious but not exactly the supportive & encouraging approach I wanted from my co leaders.

Plus some people like the challenge of attacking a base or try out new troops - regardless of whether or not the war is going to be won.

i agree on the entire communication thing. sure, there are other venues for communication, but they are outside of the game. we have members in clan ranging from ages 12 to 35, so i wouldn't want a 12 year old adding some 30 year old on their kik or facebook account just to chat about clash of clans. supercell should come out with a better way for clan leaders to communicate with their members.

as far as being able to surrender a war, i totally agree. we have had members drop out during war preparation, but their bases were already on the war map. so not only did we lose the player, but we lost their attacks as well. also, there have been times where we were so far behind on stars that even if the ones who hadn't attacked yet got 6 stars with their attacks, it wouldn't change the outcome of the war anyway.

Well the idea was the leader can surrender. After all, thats what a clan leader is about, isnt it?that way you can move on from a war you're getting pasted in.

Doesn't matter. It's unfair to the winning clan. The only way this would work at all is for one clan to surrender and the other clan to have the option of accepting or rejecting the surrender.

Don't take it too seriously, it's a mobile game after all :)

Ypes the feature where Leader can send message every 12 hrs is limiting, but if u want to concede or surrender, dont attack. That is surrender in my opinion. There r so many more interesting and imp things which need attention first. 😊

Yes that might work. Accepting the surrender gives the winning clan max stars.

I agree 100% on the communication topic. The whole chat needs to be revamped. The simple fact that I can't edit something in the middle of my messages is frustrating. How many times have you written out a message only to delete the entire thing because everything wouldn't fit due to character limitations? Why can't I copy and paste? The whole message cool down is frustrating as well.

Surrender during a war? I don't get that mentality at all. So, when the odds are stacked against you, you just roll over and give up? Either way, if an option to surrender was available it would undoubtedly be abused and should never be included.

The "texting" functionality of this game has been ignored long enough and should be getting attention soon. As in, the next update. It seems like such a simple fix and would provide a sigh of relief for many people that are having to work around the primitive texting functionality.

But seriously, it is very annoying. Maybe we should push for improved clan communication for future updates? Reduce the clan mail time. A leader/co-leader chat would be nice. Also, the ability to send private messages to clan members. (And have it give them a notification).

IMOth cooldown should be 1 messege every five hours.

You're not even able to delete single words in chat.

Did SC write CoC with BASIC?

IMHO the cooldown shoudl be like most other game chats, about 5 seconds. Plus PM's. Plus Broadcast Announcements. Plus a MOTD. Plus a notice board page

You know, something actually &%^"*$! useful.

It is intentional, so that the game interface does not have to be as complex as your outlook.

If you want to talk to them and send them messages all thee time, do it in clan chat. Why such special message requirement? Too much love i say. One msg in 12hour is more than you need. If you want to send more ask your co-leaders to do it.

I cannot stand a twelve hour cool down for mail. I'm the leader why should my communication be hampered at all? Maybe a cool down with co leaders but that's it. My clan is in different time zones in different countries. And chat only keeps so many messages. And not everyone tries to catch up on everything that's been said. Mail is a different story. Anyone can get it when they log on.

Most times it's about clarification for rules to new members or war strategy. The character limit is hard enough. But I often need more space or a second message to finish instructions or clarification.

Add to that ... with an active clan like mine ... someone requests a pekka. That's 45 minutes. So I begin cooking. By the time it's done their request has fallen off the board and I need to wait for them to request again. They may have a shield and will be on in the morning so I'm sitting here with space in my camps filled that I can't use. The troop request screen needs it's own tab. Tabs are already setup for opening and closing. Just add another solely for requests. I hate scrolling back up through my chatty clans conversation.

i absolutely love this idea for a chat tab reserved solely for requests. my clan is quite chatty as well, and there have been times where requests have disappeared off the chat log over a short 10 minute period. you should post this to the ideas & feature requests forum.

Fair enough. I will do that. I'd be surprised if it hasn't been mentioned before. Personally I love having a chatty clan. Best part of the game imo. Sounds stupid I know. Haha

No it isnt, not by a long chalk. Winnign at war requires communications between clan members. Ive actually had to set up a separate web page to explain our Battle Tactics Plan we use to new members, because its impossible to do in the stupid limited chat system. It is not for you to tell me or anyone else that "One msg in 12hour is more than you need.". Ill determine what my requirements are, and me, and many other people need a proper adequate functioning message and chat system, to make this game playable as a team game. The only games that dont need a good chat system are solo games.

Meh, you can talk to them via chat.

We should be able to message and find individuals without the use of a clan
