I'm in a clan that takes in wars once a week and we haven't won in a while. I believe loons has three starring power, especially lavaloonians, but he believes that I should use gowipe. However, my gowipe is weak due to lvl1 pekkas. I have shown him a number of three stars with the quatro lavaloonians, thanks to galadon, but still doesn't believe me
So the question is, do you think balloons are war troops or for farming?
The only time I've seen them do any good is quatrolavaloonion and the holowiwi. Our th9s and 10s are still go wiping for 2 stars up top. Everyone lower is still using mass dragons.so maybe I'm biased.

Don't go pure loonion in war unless you are really experienced with them. There are a lot of elements to a base that can cripple a loonion attack - aq, cc air traps, wiz towers, AD. You will struggle to triple unless you are very good with them, or a really noddy base comes along.
Using them with lavaloonions or as tactical strikes with a gowipe or holowiwi etc. they are very powerful. They can also be very powerful in a dragloon attack although I've never really used that.
I'm a th 7 and I use loons in war. Only add dragons for meat shield and to take out skellies when I'm hitting a th8. Rarely do I not 3 both bases i hit. Don't know about higher levels, but they are awesome from where I'm sitting.
we have a couple of dragon spammers,but most use loons. Even. Our lower levels use them.
i wouldn't try it for the first time in war unless you are in no jeopardy of loosing or so outmatched that it's no issue. Practice on regular raids. Can be pricey, but the experience is good.
Loons are good for specified attacks on certain bases but a gowipe is always going to be superior. I've seen loonion work well but definitely not on the regular. Unless you really screw up a gowipe, the troops are so strong they usually recover.Quote:

Lavaloonion is the current meta in high-level clanwars. Simple as that.
The op is a TH7 lol. Given his level, I'd say he can decimate most TH7 bases with loons quite easily. I just haven't seen loons work any better than drags or gowipe, on the regular.Quote:
