Subtle, but potentially Pekka-breaking update
So with the release of the winter/christmas update, we got lots of nice features, but if you paid attention, then you will have noticed something mentioned by Supercell right before the update.
"No more stubborn campfires" "The hitpoints of some buildings bave been increased."
I will be discussing the effects of these hitpoints increases will have on pekkas, namely lvl 3 pekkas.
Buildings with more hitpoints after update: lab, barracks, archer towers, cannons, collectors, and spell factories.
Buildings with less hitpoints: army camps, maybe one or two others.
So, here comes the lvl 3 pekka. It's DPS is 300 and 750 per attack, attacking every 2.5 seconds. Before this update, that meant it could ONE HIT the following buildings:
Collectors/mines, lvl 10 cannons, barracks, labs, lvl 5 and below teslas, mortars, dark barracks, and lvl 11 archer towers.
Now by very slightly increasing the hitpoints of some of these buildings, after the update, the lvl 3 pekka can now ONE HIT these buildings by comparison:
Lvl 9 collectors/mines, lvl 5 teslas, dark barracks, barracks, lvl 6 labs, mortars, LVL 7 CANNONS, lvl 10 archer towers.
As one can see, the lvl 3 pekka, which costs 6million elixir to upgrade (9million total), has been robbed of its one-hit capability on maxed out collectors, maxed out cannons at th8, on the laboratory lvl 7 and above, and lvl 11 archer towers.
This could potentially RUIN Pekkas for th8's and 9's. I spent 6million elixir for my lvl 3 pekkas and now i feel like instead of spending it on something that could one hit three-quarters of the buildings, i spent it on those extra few hundred hitpoints....
Pekkas attack so slowly that if they CANNOT ONE HIT most of the buildings WITHOUT RAGE SPELLS, well, that makes them quite problematic- especiqlly when they have to waste another 2.5 second attack on a building that has only 50 hitpoints remaining.
This slow attack and now inability to one-hit a number of the buildings it could previously, could cause the death of pekkas for th8's and 9's. The thing that made lvl 3 pekkas so great an upgrade was their ability to one-hit these buildings, but now that is mostly gone. I feel like i've been ♥♥♥♥♥ed when i upgraded them to lvl 3. What's the use in lvl 3 if lvl 2 one-hits the dame buildings?
There are a few suggestions i have to fix this issue:
1. Reduce the hitpoints of some of these buildings to 750 or below to allow the lvl 3 Pekka to one-hit them again.
2. Buff the DPS of lvl 3 and above pekkas so they can one-hit these buildings.
3. Make lvl 4 Pekkas available to th9's- there is absolutely no reason to give th 10's two upgrades for pekkas. Nobody will use lvl 4 pekkas at th 10 when they can upgrade them to lvl 5 at the same th. Now that most buildings have more hitpoints, the addition of lvl 4 pekkas, should offset this for th9's.
