BARCH after update - how to cope?

Hi guys,
I have lvl6 barbs and archers (TH9) AND I used to barch in Crystal 2 with 76 barbs / 144 archers (19 barbs and 36 arch per rax)
Since the update yesterday and I lost 300 trophies. My barbs can no longer cut it against the new firing rate of the archer towers. They die very quickly to give any cover to my archers. And my archers have trouble destroying buildings with the new hp.
So what do u think: shall I try more barbs to give a better shield or more archers to take down the 50% faster

Maybe bring giants along?

what is your troop level? 5 or 6?

I have not noticed any issues with barching since the update, I am TH8 with lvl5 Barch. It might just be the bases you are attacking. Look for bases with the mortars closer to the core, that can have a big impact.

Is this not the whole 'big bombs killed hogs' thing all over again?
I still use barch very effectively in crystal 2; still getting 50% comfortably..
I have had to comprimise however with 20 more barbs instead of archers but at the end of the day mortars are still the main threat, dwarfing the new archer tower fire rate IMO.

Issues are there, barching has gotten nerfed but it's still viable. You just may need to expend more barbarians and archers to compensate.

If you look at max AT for a TH and max Barb for the same TH it's going from 2 seconds for 1 AT to kill a Barbarian to 1.5 seconds. I would think it's more AT buff then base selection, but base selection may be an issue too if AT's are more protected. It's giving them time to clear out the meatshields faster, each half a second adds up if you're entire attack revolves around protecting your dps with tier 1 troops.

Switch your barb/arch ratio and you'll be fine.

I'm also in crystal 2, and I actually went up in trophies while farming yesterday.

My standard BAM army:
76 barbs (approx.)
96 archers (approx.)
20 minions
4 wall breakers

It's gotten noticeably harder to get to 50% but I can still do it most of the time. Having heroes, cc, and/or 2 lightning spells available for when you run out of troops at 48% is very helpful. Using more barbs might also help - I might start going 50/50 barb/archer.
