List of known bugs - Winter Update

Hello,

This is the list of bugs that we are currently aware of (minor/visual glitches only):

• Upgrading Dark Elixir barracks from level 5 to 6: it shows that you will unlock Lava Hound, Witch, Hogrider and Minion (these last troops are already unlocked, only Lava Hound is correct) -> Fixed for the next submission
• List of troops for donation: level is not displayed -> fixed in the next update
• List of troops for donation: still shows Goblin before Giant -> fixed in the next update
• Old loading screen tip "Dark Elixir drill can only be unlocked at Town Hall 8" -> Updated for the next submission
• When players write in the chat, under certain circumstances it will display their actual username instead of "You" (personal view only)
• X-Bow target bug, topic can be followed here -> Fixed for the next submission

Confirmed! Not able to provide screenhot atm tho...

X-bows appear to be set to ground but shoot air troops.

ios sound notification for coc missing(only shown badges, banners. where it should be badges, "sound", banner), from the notification setting in ios, not in coc. and this bug appear since the upgrade ios 8 (so hasn't been fixed since 2 months ago)

Sometimes, Level 4 xbows appear grounded (even mid-fight) but shoot air troops.

I think it shows witch, hound, minion and HOGS, i could be wrong tho :cool:

Because of this new update , my Account was deleted i mean my level 21 account became level 6 after UPDATING this game . Im new in this kind of game and it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off.

please resolve the xbow-set-to-ground-shooting-at-airtroops-bus asap. My defence is counting on the extra range of the xbows set to ground, but they are shooting at air-range anyway and that is costing me cups!:mad:

This existed prior to the update but if you set the spell factory to cook all 4 spells at th9, sign off the game and come back when your spells factory is finished, it only cooks 3 spells. The 4th disappeared like you never tried to cook 4. This happens every other day for me

Thankfully I won this attack, but it was close!

In regards to the name glitch, I have worked out the causes, and one of the side effects is being able to mute yourself from global.

The number of troops to donate

So giants are now officially unlocked before goblins?

The last 3 attacks I've won have not given me the loot bonus. I am in Crystal League 3 - I attacked an exposed town hall, got the 1000 elixir for that, and nothing more. I'm relying on that 35k loot bonus in order to profit. Can you fix this?

Can you please check if the Heroes are getting health recovery wen using the abilities? I saw some people complaining about that, tested with my archer queen and it seems that she is not getting any health back.

Terribly sorry to hear that happened to you. I would encourage you to save your game with gamecenter on IOS or google+ on android. Once you link your (new) account it can be retrieved.

AFAIK there's pretty much nothing that can be done to recover your old account (I do not represent supercell in any way. simply take my words as advice from the community). I'm not making light of your plight at all, but the bright side of this is that it doesn't take long to build back up to level 21. Look at it as a way to apply what you've already learned to the next 15 levels.

It took me 9 months, your comment isn't helpful.

this is more of a "feature request" than a "bug" per se since this is working as the developers intended: but when we're attacking, is it possible to remove the level number from the icons? Hopefully I already know what level my giants or barb king are... having two numbers on the icon is very distracting!

My Clan Castle won't let me request with 22/25 spaces filled. It shows "Full"...

after the live attack on your base you are taken to global chat instead of clan chat

Settings > Help & Support > type in the keyword related to your issue and you'll see the possible results. At the bottom you'll see "Can't find what you were looking for? Contact us"
Also, when you open an article, on the upper right corner you'll find the "Contact us" button too

I have this problem too.

But it only happens if I have wizards in my cc for some reason.

I have 4 wizards in my 20space clan castle, it shows full although there's room for 4 more troops.

Or 4 wizards, 2 archers,2 barbs, even though it should be 8/20 it shows full.

But this only happens if wizards are in my clan castle.

If there's no wizards it shows the right amount.

And this game crashes while clicking attack, sometimes. Almost randomly but it's always clicking attack.

My problem is also only with wizards in CC. Seems like the CC thinks wizards take up 5 spaces instead of 4.

Every once in a while my game crashes while nexting. There appears to be a correlation: if I do not wait for a hero to wake up from recovery-sleep, and go nexting, when that hero awakens I lose connection with "client and server are out of sync"...

Overall this is an amazing update, thank you SC! The only issue I have with it is the cannons advantage over archer towers has always been that it shoots faster and is cheaper. Now with the new update both of those advantages are gone, so I recommend giving the cannon some kind of boost to either damage, or making it cheaper to give it some advantage over the archer tower. Besides that it was a great update, especially being able to save multiple bases!

P.s Why was there no kind of 1 gem boost this update like there is on most holidays?

I just feel it is too much snow ... I love summers;)

not a bug. ;)

Another wonderful update. Might as well compile a list of all the bugs I've encountered.

1) Visual glitch on most dark barrack levels. They appear to have moulded together to form 1 barrack.

2) Double clicking on a layout to edit causes the app to force close.

3) This has been the case for awhile now - occasionally in village edit walls will behave in a perculiar way. Sometimes 2 end pieces will display when connected instead of forming a seamless join, thus not connecting. Occasionally random wall pieces will also become one with another building.

4) Another longstanding bug. Occasionally the donate button is sometimes greyed out despite returning from another village. You can still donate however.

5) CC glitch. Occasionally troops will get lost & the castle may appear to be full in chat, yet in reality only being half full for example. This is NOT to be confused with requesting & subsequently attacking with a half full cc, returning to your base & your cc appearing to show more troops inside than there actually are since you used half during your attack (what you'd expect).

6) This isn't so much as a glitch but a longstanding feature - requiring the most simplest of fixes - that prevents myself & others playing the game to it's fullest & hampers the user experience:

The 1st troop being selected as default. Imo, none should be selected as default in order to prevent the accidental dropping of troops on undesired bases. I can't even BEGIN to tell you what an inconvenience this is. At times the game is unplayable for myself as a result.

Can we make this one an actual update? It is kind of nice seeing your name instead of "You".

Ok so now that giants are unlocked before goblins, will the design of the level 3 and 4 barracks be switched?

So when you switch between base layouts in home base screen, infernos and xbows will be switched automatically to single target mode(inferno) and ground mode(xbow) regardless of the fact that in the previous layout they have been set on multiple targets(inferno) or air and ground(xbows). This can be crucial if you are pushing because you might forget to switch them to multiple or ground and air target before you get offline.

That only occurs the first time you modified the layout, it was empty before that. Once you set a mode for these buildings on a certain layout, it will stay in that mode for all future layouts.

I have however noticed a few times today, that ground only xbows fired into air aswell. I've asked a few people and some have seen it before. I'm assuming its an after update glitch, but it seems to come and go.

Level 1 Golem doesn't have it's level shown as rest of the troops when attacking nor in army camp.

In fact, in on my junior TH 8 account where all DE troops are level 1 they don't have the level shown as other troops. Don't know if this was intended to be that way or it's a bug.

The easy fix is to not forget.

we have won our clan war. but my bonus wasn't in my clan castle. please help!!

Since the update three of our chief s lost the connection during the war attack.

So we lost about 6 stars.

Please fix that

After the Christmas update dark barrack looks weird. It looks like the other levels are merging/overlapping with each other. Here is one example:- http://forum.supercell.net/attachmen...6&d=1418301868

Simply copy one layout to another and go to edit layout and hit remove all . . Then hit button finish later .. there you go

CC Troops may not show up in troop lineup(the bottom left bar full of troops in raids). Only for raid spectators.

The ground xbows are shooting air it's Kinda weird cuz it comes and goes so u never now when a group xbow it's gonna shoot ur air troops -_- fix this ASAP

When I went into my account, the XMas tree appeared in the middle of my base between two buildings not outside of the building's boundaries.

Also, if a clan castle is adjacent to a building, the clan's name displayed on the castle goes in front of the adjacent building. The clan name also still appears even if the clan castle is still destroyed...

I used my Archer queen to attack and she fainted so she had about 40 minutes to recover health but I used dark elixir to upgrade her. After that 40 minutes was up, she was available to attack (while still upgrading) so I used her to attack thinking that was part of the new update. After that attack, I went back to my village and she had stopped upgrading and my dark elixir was refunded. I upgraded her again and attacked a few hours later and she wasn't available to attack.

A member of our clan has experienced the same problem, but with a TH7 village. Fortunately he linked his village to a Google+ account, so we are hopeful he will be able to rejoin the clan.

Do you have any indication how long recovery requests take to process at the moment?

That's has happened to us randomly as well (causing us to barely lose a war, though this issue has happened more often than just once and to a few of us). I believe I've created a thread regarding this according to support.
My fix for this was if connection is lost, pause the war attack until the attacker reopens the app OR a set time limit like 5 min (adjustable) *whichever comes first*.
That way it can't be exploited and is fair since attacks are not wasted due to randomness.

Lol not much of a big bug but Ill post it. After I switch bases this happens. Too bad I cant upload a picture using my phone haha too lazy to get my laptop

I definitely just encountered this when doing my Loon raid. All 3 xbows were down and all 3 started shooting at my minions and loons! haha Definitely took me by surprise.

Why just this the answer old?

Another bug is that in the clan war clan castle the minus sign to release troops blocks the number of troops you have if it's in the double digits. For example, I have 23 archers in my clan castle but the minus sign to release troops is blocking the second digit so it looks like I only have 2 archers in my clan castle. I understand you can see you have more than two troops in the clan castle as a result of the fill up bar but it's still inconvenient.

I think the problems are with lvl 1 and lvl 4 barracks. Looks like lvl 2 barracks overlaps lvl 1 and lvl 3 overlaps lvl 4. Here are some images:-

I noticed when my level 9 barracks are training they lose the snow they have when idle. My level 10 barracks keep the snow.

Well, The level 1 Dark Barracks looks exactly like the level 2, Except the level 1 has snow on it, and the level 2 does not...

After the update must be kept in the Town Hall stage 8 for 100 years until develop my wall of the stage and the stage 7 8 Please Turn development in Elixir also

Edit the vilage you want to delete, remove all buildings and save.

One of my elder reported me that he have could start a war at the end of our last war. It disappeared some minutes later.

This may just be a glitch, not an actual bug, but sharing it here.

Upon initial log-on, the clan war button icon is greyed out (when it should be available) and the clan chat is unavailable. Then a few (1-3) minutes later, both return to normal.

This may just be a sync issue, but I have noticed it on multiple accounts (my wife and kids also play) and it seems to occur more often than not now. It was never a problem in the past.

I had the chat say my in-game name instead of "you" a few minutes ago. This happened after i watched a live replay of my base being attacked and then going straight into the game.

I got the same visual glitch as you.

yesterday one of my clanmates requested for a PEKKA, i donated him a lvl 2 pekka and it never arrived. The request message dissapeared and in his clan castle had 0/25. Literaly 1 hour later the pekka appeared..

There is no notification for new message and new req on the clan arrow key on the left...

When i updated my coc to this "winter update" my gem got bug as far as i can remember i have 400+ gems bcos im saving gems for new workers, but suddenly when the update comes i recently have 100+ gems now.

Also, I have full my housing ground but in this update it appear none. I haven't attacked anyone yet and im sure bcos i have my troops ready for our clan war.

When X-Bow is set to Air+Ground Mode it does not attack air Units..!!

I hope this bug hasn't been mentioned yet:
When starting a new war after the update players that log on for the first time since the war started and visit enemy bases it says "war has ended" at the top of the screen and players can't use the arrows to go to the next base when visiting enemy bases. After restarting clash its normal again but I still hope you guys could fix this.

I confirm this bug. Its happening with me too. Reported in game and sent video as requested.

X-Bows set to Air and Ground mode dont attack ballons, minions, dragons or Lava

I have clan mates that dont have this problem and everything is working and other have the problem too

Fix this asap.

No. of troops in war is hidden by the 'delete troop' sign

Now it is how it used to be again for the majority of casual players.

Why shouldn't people new to the game have to farm harder for Gold, like those of us who have been playing this game since it started?
It should be like it is now, so that it is an even playing field for all.
Even those with walls at level 8 or above, it should be gold only to upgrade walls.
Maybe Supercell could apply the gold or elixir use for wall upgrades only to walls being upgraded from 9 to 10, and 10 to 11; since those wall upgrades are so ridiculously expensive.
I would guess the only people who bother to upgrade their walls all the way to level 11 are those who gem all their wall upgrades. Otherwise it would take the average Jo, perhaps 2 years, collecting 4m gold every Saturday and Sunday, to upgrade all their walls to the maximum level.

I am an Elder in the clan BritishBulldog2, I also had the option to start a Clan War at the end of our last Clan War, it was when I was reviewing the Clan War results, immediately after the war ended. On the first screen that appears after clicking on the Clan War button that has the red exclamation mark. This was before the Christmas 2014 update though, and after the Halloween update. So might have been resolved already.

I have already posted about this in response to some other people, but now that I come to think about it, the exact circumstances quoted here by Zeus541, are the exact same conditions under which my Game Center ID appeared in the clan chat. I had logged in to watch a live replay, and then afterwards my Game Center ID appeared in the clan chat instead of 'You'.
When I logged in today, it was a regular log in, not logging in to respond to a live replay, and my name in the clan chat appeared as 'You' again.

Decorations can appear anywhere where you have empty grid cells on your map.
This is therefore normal game mechanics.
If you don't want a Christmas tree to appear in the middle of your layout, don't leave any gaps that are 2x2 in size inside your layout. Alternatively, remove the Christmas tree and just hope you get lucky to get another one that spawns outside your walls.

I have seen a th10, maxed out base, level 150+ experience, with 2 pine trees, symmetrically positioned either side of two inferno towers, in the very middle of the layout, hence why I say it is entirely possible for decorations to appear in the middle of a layout.

Anoushka, you have stated in a reply to someone else's post, that the Giant will unlock before Goblins from now on. As such, this is not a bug that is in need of fixing.
If it is a bug in need of fixing, the Goblins appear before the Giant in the header bar information on the Player Information screen, the screen which appears when you tap on the white 'i' on blue button next to the player ID.
Also, will clashofclans wikis need to revise all their comments about Giants being Tier 2 troops? Are Giants now Tier 1 troops? Or do they remain Tier 2 and the Goblins have become Tier 2?

One other bug, one of my clan members, I am an Elder in BritishBulldog2, 'ace clone', lost his 2013 Christmas trees in the 2014 Christmas Update. I have seen many other people also complain that the update has caused them to lose their 2013 Christmas tree. For myself, I still have my 2013 Christmas tree, and others in my clan still have both their 2012 and 2013 Christmas trees.
For those of my members who have lost their 2013 Christmas tree due to the 11th Dec 2014 update, what should they do to get them back?
Is this something that can be automatically fixed in the next update?
It could be hard for them to prove that they did not just remove it themselves, unless SC logs every change a member makes to their owned decorations.
The 2013 Christmas tree graphic certainly still exists in SC's databases for some, as many in our clan still have them.
The owning of old Christmas trees is like a badge of honour, that demonstrates the length of time members have been playing this great game, it has been a bitter loss to 'ace clone' to lose this honour; it is like having a medal removed.
Please could you fix this somehow.

Started playing on 8th April 2013 and still loving Clash of Clans.
Experience Level 126, 27 level 10 walls, 223 level 9 walls.
Love that for my wall levels I am still being able to upgrade walls with elixir or gold.

Since the winter update I seek a marked decline in loot opportunities. Using barching boosting barracks, heroes and spells, my loot total in 6 hours was around 1 mill gold and elix (less cost to produce troops), and 4k de.

This is so boring! I tried different troops to gain the little I got.

i found one abandoned base in 6 hours with less than 200k of loot!

Several of my clan mates have dropped activity saying the game isn't fun. It gets harder as we progress but frankly most people don't have the time.

In my experience, bear in mind I have played this game since April 2013, this always happens just after a big update.
This is because people who haven't shown any interest in the game for some time are tempted to play again, due to the level 12 resource building upgrades available, and because it is Christmas. There will likely be even less loot available in the week or two after Christmas, as the game will be flooded with people spending gems bought with their iTunes vouchers they received at Christmas.

Give it a couple of weeks after Christmas and then the amount of abandoned villages will increase again, as those who played just to get the new updates loose interest again.

It is simple market forces at work. The law of supply and demand. Once the interest of the non gamer fraternity, once the casual player stops playing again, the demand will drop off, and the supply of dead bases will increase again.

Just be patient.

This is not a bug nor a glitch.
The person attacking you was without a Clan, but has a clan castle with troops inside.
The graphic you are seeing is a Clan Castle flag pole, without a flag run up the pole.
So you were likely one of his first targets after he left his old clan.

Thats not a bug. Its a player with troops in castel but without a clan.

When a building is destroyed, you can still see a shadow on the ground!

Twice now our clan wars have lagged. There was a difference larger than 48hrs from war is declared and when war ends. Note it says declared, not initiated so from when when prep day starts to when war ends.
Both times, this had caused us to lose our war..
We had a lead of around 8 stars when war SHOULD HAVE ended. That extra hour or 2 caused us to lose twice now.

The first time I figured it may be a random glitch but a second time; this needs to be looked into. It is not fair if the time is extended and it causes a loss strictly because of that.

Obstacles dnt spawn at the rate they should I get maybe 1 a day if not less..
Also have seen a bug where Clan castle full notification sometimes shows behind the troop request timer..:confused:

The giants hitboxes have to be on the exact center of the spring traps, or, nothing. Thats why only 3 archers on a spring trap get flung instead of the supposed 15.

Now, for a useful (but small) piece of information.

After viewing a replay with the 'x-bow bug', I noticed the ground xbow shoots at (air) troops with 1 square less than the air xbow range.
